KVM switch for computers and accessories

The switch feels good but the firmware is VERY buggy. The first has not arrived yet and worked for about a week, then recovered. Automatically repeats the keys hundreds of times and switches to another computer for 1 second and then back. I chatted with their support team who responded quickly for those who are tech savvy and able to troubleshoot our USB cable etc issues themselves. Now the new switch doesn't have the previous problem, but now there are new USB problems. I am disconnected from…

Works great for me on computers and accessories

I spent extra money to get the quick switch version and it seems to work great. I don't have much experience with this type of device, but the hotkeys work great and they work great on two windows computers with different resolutions (no more than 1920x1080).

  • Nice finish
Cons

OK with hardware button, support questionable

Use with QNIX QX2710 LED Evolution ll 27" 27" 2560x1440 Samsung PLS (LG IPS) Glossy Screen Panel PC Monitor. Re: The box itself. This is a solid box with good connections. There is a "Select" button on the front to switch sources. Seems to work reliably. Re: support. When I bought the monitor, the seller of the monitor insisted that I check with the KVM manufacturer to make sure it would work. StarTech (KVM maker) said they didn't have a monitor to test and suspected it wouldn't work. Actually…

Works at 1080p 120Hz! Also: Works

120Hz! REALLY!: I was looking for a DL-DVI compatible 2-port KVM. I couldn't afford a 1440P monitor back then, but I wanted to make sure I could use one one day. I ended up with a 1080P monitor at 120Hz (VG278H). It wasn't until it came out that I realized the specs for this KVM didn't say it would support 120Hz. Guess what? It still works! [Note: DL-DVI required for 120Hz at 1080p]. I am very happy with this item. As for keyboard emulation, I did what other posters suggested and just used the…

Missed so much!

I bought this unit to switch keyboard, mouse and monitor between desktop and laptop. I especially wanted the switch to support DVI since both of my video sources use that standard. I have to say that the video performance of the device was perfect, I can run both computers at 1920 x 1080 and had no problems booting up etc. Mouse switching was also flawless, although I use a mouse with additional programmable settings. Keys. However, the keyboard was a problem area. I'm using a (brand new)…

Do Not Buy.: KVM Switches

High definition video switching worked very well but that's where the good news ends. In most cases, this device did not recognize a USB mouse and keyboard for two different brands of such peripherals (some from Logitech and some from Dell). Extensive communication with the technical support on site at the manufacturer did not help; The best they could recommend was a lower-end model, which they claimed offered better USB switching, but couldn't handle the video resolution I needed ie. end up…

Overall, I like that it has two USB ports on the front.

I am using K95 and G700 with KVM. It works, but you have to fiddle with the bios switch. You'll also have to toggle the LEDs manually as they stay on even if you turn off both computers, but that's to be expected. Overall I like that it has two front USB ports that can be used with any computer and there is DVI. I was able to use an HDMI final converter and it worked fine. I also tried converting to VGA but as expected the pins don't match so make sure your monitors have DVI or HDMI. Overall I…

Almost done but the main function doesn't work

Updated 10 5. I was able to get it working by plugging a keyboard and mouse into regular USB ports. For a KVM of this price you would expect better performance. As it stands I'm increasing it from 1 star to 3 because it's serviceable, you just lose all the extra features. When it works it works great, unfortunately it doesn't always work. Sometimes when I'm typing, the keys repeat randomly, as if a key got stuck. This only happens when the keyboard is connected to the switch, so I know the…
