I like what he does.

This is a really good KVM. I love that you can bind audio from a device and love the hotkey options. I just wish you could link the video too (if there is a way, I haven't found it in the documentation yet). If you could pin video to a single monitor it would easily get 5 stars, but to be honest it's probably quite difficult to pin video from different ports without much headache and expense. I have to say it was a little difficult to set up. This is difficult only because I'm using plug and…

Nothing fancy but works

This KVM works for what I need. I needed an easy way to connect my two monitors, a keyboard, and a mouse to two computer towers (to save space on my desk!). During working hours I usually sit at one computer and when I'm done I switch to another. Setup was easy - thanks to reading a few reviews emphasizing the need to buy all the necessary cables - and it worked almost on the first try. I was a little frustrated at first when the keyboard and mouse worked, but after trying all the different USB

it's strong It's metal

I don't regret the purchase. He usually does exactly what he is supposed to do. This is exactly the component I need. it's strong this is metal It didn't work at all. It looks and feels like a high quality professional component. But sometimes it crashes and drops the screen. When I switch from one computer to another, one of the screens disappears. In this case, turning on and off, disconnecting and reconnecting, and sometimes even turning off, restarting and turning on again won't work. How…

Much better than expected

I was skeptical about this unit after reading the rather lukewarm reviews on this and other sites. However, I have quite a bit of experience with KVM (ranging from the small Belkin and IOGear products to the big fancy Avocent OSD models) and overall I'm very happy with StarTech, so I decided to take a chance and I did am glad i did it. The device is slightly larger than comparable models, but its body is made of steel or other metal and doesn't appear flimsy, which is definitely a plus. Plus…

Worked for several months, now not working

Purchased May 2015. Worked for several months; then a screen of computer A is not displayed. Since Computer B is the one I use the most, I've come to terms with it. Now (October 2015) when I try to connect to computer A, the screen that has been working so far just keeps running and trying to get a signal. Also, computer B no longer displays both screens. USB ports for keyboard and mouse seem to work fine, although sometimes they don't show up for a second or two or I have to switch to another…

Work flawlessly in WQHD resolutions - be careful if you have an XP box.

I use this switch between my main Wintel desktop (Intel Boxed Desktop Motherboard BOXDZ68DB Media Series Socket LGA1155 ATX) and my laptop running XP. This is one of the first switches I've used where I didn't have to unplug and plug in the USB to see the keyboard. Its ability to also switch two additional USB ports between boxes is a huge plus. The device looks very well made. The indicator of an active session looks a little strange: an active connection is shown in red on the right side of…

Problems arose early then declined

This is one of those rare purchases that makes a person think less about themselves. I bought it because I had two DVI monitors and a laptop and desktop that I needed to switch between. There weren't many options for this setup and most of them were quite expensive. Next to. Well, it wasn't "cheap", but significantly cheaper than other alternatives. I had to wonder why, but I was in a hurry so I took the plunge. Initial setup was easy enough and it has some nice features, but I've sometimes…

Works well after some initial setup issues - recommended for easy use.

I bought this KVM switch so I can continue using my home laptop (DELL XPS 17) and work laptop (DELL Latitude E6430) with the same keyboard and dual monitors that I have had at home. Office. The block is metal, heavy and apparently well built. I chose not to have any extra cables as I had most of the cables needed for the installation. There was a DVI cable adapter that I bought mono priced. You must examine the required connectors and cables very carefully to ensure a hassle-free installation…
