works - spares

starter lead was a bit tight 2 bolts on the primary had to be loosened slightly then tightened evenly or they wouldn't line up. But the starter fits and works well. In general, I am satisfied with the price and functionality.

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • lots of stuff

worked 4 months.

This starter lasted 4 months. I disassembled it for fault analysis and found that the magnets were broken. This quad always started after a few engine revs so I would say this starter had an easy life and was probably low quality.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Fits

Save a lot of money compared to an outdoor weight training shop.

For less than $40 self-install, this saved over $300 compared to the best deal at the outdoor sporting goods store. However, installing it on my pre-2000 Polaris was one of the most difficult repairs I have ever done on a gas powered vehicle. I had to disassemble the whole engine to remove the old one and install the new one. I think earlier versions of this ATV product were originally designed for rope start and have evolved over the years to electric start.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Update available

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED - Starters and Alternators

This is an aftermarket starter motor that is a perfect match for my 1994 Polaris 400L. it worked perfectly for months and still works. but be careful. A new starter that is OEM costs $389.99. So if you buy it for $35, don't expect $389.99 quality. I have a second one because one of the bolts in the body broke and it started to fall apart. I put it back together and will get a new bolt so I have a spare but didn't hesitate to go to Amazon and buy another one for $35. It's worth it even if I have

Pros
  • Excellent fit for me
Cons
  • I won't say anything

No more than 30 starts before the starter grinds.

Bought this starter for my Polaris 300. The starter turned right, started and ran for a while. The last three months have been too cold to drive. I took it off last week let's say I get 30 starts max and now the starter just clicks or when cranking it makes a grinding noise. I've spent the last hour trying to find the company's contact number or email address to easily get a one-year warranty. I hope they get back to me via this review but it shows they are out of appetizers available.

  • Easy install
