Terribly inaccurate

I really like the concept of these deflators. I have a very accurate tire pressure gauge that I used to try and set these air releases to 18psi. I didn't trust them after the second use because a tire was 15 PSI not 18 PSI. I sat and pumped up and deflated the same tire multiple times, but couldn't get it to 18psi. As a basic test, I followed the instructions and installed it. I inflated the tire to 22psi and it did not deflate. So I just deviated from the setup a bit. Maximum 1/8 turn. Itโ€ฆ

Don't bother with the cheaper versions, I'll tell you why

Learn from my mistake and just buy them the first time and save money. I risked $30 and wasn't entirely satisfied. The first key difference is that Staun deflators deflate much more quickly, primarily because they "click" immediately upon reaching the set pressure. In contrast, the cheaper ones just get narrower, so the less air coming out of the narrower one, it lasts longer. I blew all 4 tires from 35 PSI to 18 PSI in about 5 minutes. This includes taking the valve caps off and putting themโ€ฆ

This is a great product. to use EZ.

I have been using this Staun product for at least 10 years while visiting Cape Hatteras National Seashore. (I only bought new ones with this purchase because I "lost" my originals). After going to Hatteras since the mid 70's and years of using my "welding shears" to depressurize to 16psi, my fiancรฉ gave me my first set. I'm not even trying to sit on my 5 gallon buckets anymore. Fuck these babes one by one. When the fourth one is installed I go back to the first one, delete it, keep going around

Easy to use and appears well made

I used these for airing for the first time last weekend and found the following: Run it to the max - They are solid brass - Work perfectly as intended and don't shine as bad a "fit" as the cheap ones - they deflate quickly (quicker than other jeepers who do it manually or with a valve (base kit) - the first one was done when I installed the last one on the opposite side - Comes with a leather storage pouch with a different mechanism Minor cons: - No markings for on-the-fly adjustment (Someโ€ฆ

Not as easy and accurate as I had hoped

They appear to be well made - brass, heavy. to pick her up. Two were at 17.5 with a digital meter that I use regularly and it's consistent. The third was 11 PSI and the fourth was done and proving to be a little problematic. The piston wasn't as smooth as the other three and I had a hard time getting it stable enough (+/- 10% of expected PSI for me). I spent at least an hour getting them to the right place. her, so I've been in the hole for an hour on a time-saving piece with this one. Alsoโ€ฆ

Stable, simple and reliable

Works great! I wanted them set at 20psi and it took me about 5 minutes to set them to the factory settings. I have used them four times now and each time they have deflated my tires to exactly 20psi for my caliber. They're a bit pricey but I feel like they're good value for money because they're reliable and work perfectly every time I use them. I have 33" tires on 16" 8" wide rims. I put the first one on and then I go to the other three tires and put them on. Wait about another minute and theโ€ฆ

Very comfortable for ventilation but not very reliable

I had the opportunity to test the stauns in real situations. A few days ago we did a hard reset to 18psi (I know it's the default but we tried anyway and did a hard reset). theoretically very convenient. Since this was our first time using them I quickly checked the actual psi pressure with a digital gauge and all the tires were different psi pressures from 15 to 23. I reset them to 18 and tested them again on my friend's Jeep and it Looks like they'll be consistent at 19-20 for all tires thisโ€ฆ
