I should have known better!

I needed the 1" bit from this set first, the smaller bits will come in handy later. blunt and jagged teeth lost their contours. What should have taken about a 10 second workout now takes a few minutes plus a lot of upper body effort. I requested a refund and Revain handled it perfectly.

So far, so good. for drill parts and accessories

I've used them on several pine (softwood) projects. No damage, cut well enough. If you're using them on hardwood I suggest having a good drill bit. My drill is only 14.4 volts (will be replaced soon) and I was cutting hard wood with the drill and these bits were draining the battery TOO quickly. Very thin steel case from a discarded DVD player (no more than 1mm thick). The 3/8" drill bit I used made two holes and the third hole destroyed it. It also won't cut soft wood anymore. 4 stars because…

Pros
  • Forstner bit
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

I used 1/4" and 3/8" drill bits with a hand drill to finish some holes I had previously drilled with HSS bits. I used these Forstner bits to get a slightly better hole bottom. With this usage they did it. It is not carbide or HSS steel. These are carbon steel bits. UPDATE 8/30/2015 - I used 1/2" and 5/8" bits on over thirty 2" to 3" holes in a Ponderosa 2X6 pine board cabin door project. . heavy work. The beats worked well. better than i expected. . For the price they are great. Here are a few…
