Loud Squeaks: Brake System

They squeak so loud. It's embarrassing. I put a lot of brake grease on them and they still squeak. Well, they squeaked from the start. The braking power is also not great. I think you get what you pay for. Will get new pads after 4000 km.

Pros
  • Great Design
Cons
  • Low Repairability

Great product at a good price

Easy installation, I was able to install front and rear brakes together with a friend in less than two hours. So far the initial sting has been so strong but they'll stop you for a dime if you need them too. They're still pretty smooth, which is great. I installed them on my 2011 STi Hatch.

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Good but not great

I think the Hawk HPS has better brakes

Solid brakes for a price. Decent stopping power and decent dusting. I think the Hawk HPS are better in terms of braking but they collect dust like no other. It's a good compromise if you're looking for more stopping power. For the everyday driver, they are more than enough. Installed on a 2005 Subaru WRX.

Pros
  • Alright!
Cons
  • Contact seller

Great pads, good fit for braking system

I used to have EBC Redstuff and they work better for half the price. They produce more dust compared to Redstuff, but that's acceptable, your wheels will still stay clean. Braking performance is excellent with no sign of fading at high speeds. Dust exposure is low to moderate. Longevity - no data as I've only had it a week. I will update later. Installed on a 2010 Camaro SS.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Disappear

Great alternative to OEM Bremo brake pads!

I used them as a replacement for my Subaru STI. Brembo OEM brake pads are too expensive, so I went with StopTech. I bought some brake components from them so I know they are a reputable company. I can honestly say they have the same bite as Brembo. I haven't ridden them so I'm not sure about the heat resistance. I rode my old Brembo kit and didn't really like how quickly they lose heat. After an autocross, they (Brembos) started smoking. This is a great alternative to standard pads!

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Nothing here

Great for everyday driving Evo X

I have replaced the original pads that came with my Evo X with these from Stoptech (front and rear). In everyday life, they are excellent - they do not creak, there is little dust, and most importantly, the pads behave well when braking. However, compared to the original pads that came with my Evo X, they don't have the same stopping power and aren't as good. The original OEM pads were great for their initial bite and they never faded. In everyday traffic, however, this is more than sufficient.

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • I won't say anything
