Just like my old Sturmey Archers

Works as advertised, just like my old Sturmey Archers. It doesn't get 5 stars but that's not SA's fault, my old Nuvinci hub had a 33 tooth sprocket. Going to 26t will cost me a new crankset.

Pros
  • Includes switches, cables and hardware
Cons
  • Not sure

For MTB motorcycle

I have known Sturmey Archer for many years so I trust him. Now it's installed on a motorized bike, it works great although I had some issues. Due to engine torque, an aluminum nut broke so I had to build a new one out of a stronger material.

Pros
  • Freewheel axle length 170mm
Cons
  • Price piggy bank

Good but not great for cycling

This hub works well if you can handle a loud ratcheting noise that gets louder as the gear ratio increases. It bothered me so much I changed it 3 times at the local bike shop (could even hear it over the music on my ipod in my headphones) with no improvement. It gets the job done, but if you want a smooth ride, do what I did and get a Shimano Nexus. The cost is about the same (minus the switch). But you end up losing some translation unless your Lance Armstrong notices that badly. Just my two…

Pros
  • Disc hub axle length is 185mm
Cons
  • Some difficulties
