MY BABY FALL FROM THE LADDER

DO NOT BUY THIS GATE. We did everything right to install this gate at the top of the stairs but the lock on the gate failed causing my 16 month old son to fall down four steps onto the landing. Thank God he was able to fall on the landing and not all the way up the stairs. I was downstairs and my husband was upstairs with him. It happened so quickly and not because we left him alone! He's quite an inquisitive and strong kid and although we opened the door inwards rather than outwards as an…

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • I won't say anything

Revain has had many mixed reviews of this gate. "Latch doesn't work" "Gate wobbles" "Bad job" I thought I was going to roll the dice. Here are the facts. It's a strong, sturdy door and it does exactly what it's designed to do. You can't just turn a few knobs and use it. I think that's something a lot of people don't understand. Don't rush into a trial suit. Set it up a few times and tweak and tweak all the details. Understand the operation. There is no traditional latch at the top, just a…

Rescue for a family with several dogs

Our family consists of two adult dogs and five rescue dogs. Unfortunately, the two dogs do not like each other at all. It went so far that you got a nasty laceration. A behaviorist will come to us and advise us on this problem, but in the meantime we must constantly keep the two dogs apart. It is perfect for this use. It's strong enough that even our largest dog (not the attacker) can't open or knock it over. We don't have an ideal place for it since the empty walls in our corridor opened to…

Glad you took off. for Gates & Gate Extensions

I was afraid to invest in this because of the low reviews. I'm glad I bought it so far. I was also worried it wouldn't work well because it has a max size of 48" and my door opening is 48", but it fits great. It hasn't even been lengthened as much as possible so it will probably fit even 49 or even 50 inches. The included wrench didn't help much. Channel locks would be better. To open the gate you need to perform two steps: push and lift. My 2 year old son figured out how to open our Push and…

Almost perfect just needs some stretching

*So for those just wanting to know if this is a good buy and worth the money, yes. It is well constructed, looks very beautiful and is infinitely strong. For those who want a more detailed overview, here we go! In terms of appearance, the gate looks less like a child/dog gate and more like a tiny garden gate. We use it on our stairs so when we're gone, dogs can't find a fancy new potty spot or a new pair of underwear to scatter around. It's important to note that this gate has a door for a…
