Description of πŸ“ Sungold Abrasives 22-45220 220 Grit PSA Rolls: Premium 10-Yard Stearated Silicon Carbide Sandpaper

Used for wood metal plastic fiberglass paint primer solid surface materials composites hand sanding and half and quarter sheet sanders. Open coat grain with a non-loading stearate minimizes loading with a cool cut for longer lasting abrasives. Strong C-weight paper backing with latex impregnated paper for strong and flexible backing abrasives will not come off when folded over. P graded silicon carbide grain breaks down to create sharp points to cut well through hard surfaces and produce a consistent finish. Full resin on resin bond to keep the grain on the cutting surface and waterproofing the sheet.

Disappointing purchase

This is the condition of this product when I received it today. Looks like it has sat on a shelf for years after being returned by another customer. I'm not even sure I got the full list. There is no glue left on the roll.

Tears easily leaving holes in sandpaper

I really regret buying this sandpaper. This paper is too thin with a very thin abrasive coating that will wear off quickly if you use it to sand wood. It tears easily, leaving holes in the sandpaper. I wouldn't buy this again.

NOT Silicon Carbide

Description says it's wet/dry silicon carbide, I used aluminum oxide instead. Sandpaper becomes bare paper very quickly when exposed to water. I bought this for reusing lapping tools and would not recommend it for that purpose.

Good Paper-Works Fine

I have a dispenser that I load 120, 220, 320 and 400 paper into. It is designed for a spool of this size and width of paper. The paper is of good quality and if you collect it in sufficient quantity, even different grits from the same company, then delivery is free. I have 120 and 220 coils in that order and both seem good. I use it on a 1/4 blade sander and for hand sanding both flat and on the lathe. The PSA backing isn't too sticky, which I like. The only caveat I have is that they have to…

Slightly cheaper

This paper is about half the price of Porter Cable's self-adhesive sandpaper but lasts about half as long. I like that the adhesive isn't so sticky that it tears the pad on the sander like Porter Cable paper does. In the product description it says "Heavy weight C-backing paper with latex impregnated paper for strong and flexible backing abrasives that won't come loose when flexed" and the part about the grain left behind when the paper is flexed is very true, but that's it only loops. the…
