As many have pointed out, jamming is a problem. I used a thin strip (cut with scissors) of 6" x 6" Danco 59849 rubber packing sheets between the handlebar and clamp and it works GREAT! The problem is that the clip flexes when tightened and the nut at the base of the arm doesn't fit the clip snugly, making it difficult to keep the mirror from rotating when you don't want it to. Out of all the mirrors I've reviewed I chose this one based on all the comments I've read about others. It's a nice little mirror, but I had to move my hand to see if something was approaching from behind, which weighs me down a bit and causes me to drift right into the lane I'm trying to stay out of (!) . I ordered this knowing the clamp would be too loose or too flexible (hence 4 stars) but I needed a mirror for my new bike. I solved the problem with a small shelf insert (some kind of waffle weave, I don't know what it's called).
