Steel stem with cast aluminum handlebar clamp housing. Much heavier than I thought it would be, I was expecting it to be all aluminum.

I wanted a tall stem. It works well. It's heavy but serves a very specific purpose – I was converting an old road bike into a fast bike with flat bars and wanted an upright riding position. Seems well done.

I think the Tco Piston Quill stem looks cool. By my standards it weighs 417 grams, quite heavy. Clamp aluminum, steel rod. The stem is 17.5cm from the minimum insertion point to the middle of the handlebar, so it's quite tall. It suits me and my bike.

I bought this stem to raise the handlebars for a more upright riding position. I also installed it backwards (stick rotated backwards). It is practical that the steering wheel is attached with two screws. What isn't nice is the weight. The thing is very HEAVY. Definitely NOT something for a light bike.

I wanted a hybrid bike that I could hop on for family trips without strapping into my road or mountain bike. Even though I had another road bike, it still wasn't very comfortable to ride. So I would either spend like $500 on a decent hybrid or find a way to modify the racquet. Well, for $16 and another $10 for a longer front brake cable, it worked.
