Used to align the rear cover so that the rear main seal is centered when installed. Oil Pan Alignment Tool --- Fits Engines 4.8 5.3 5.7 6.0 LS1 LS2 LS3 LS6 L99 LS4 LS9 LSA LQ4 LQ9 L76 L92 and Works on GM LS1, LS2, LS3, LS7, LSA and LS9 V8 engines . Panel holes mismatch

It works fine but the panel that should screw to the bottom of the unit only fits the front cover, not the back. It would be nice to know.
