The perfect tool in Wrenches

The perfect tool for my Maytag washing machine. This tool paid for itself the first time. I've been a mechanic for 40 years and I firmly believe that it's worth spending a few bucks to get the right tool for the job. Exactly what I needed and would recommend this tool for your washing machine repair.

Save yourself the headache. Buy an original key.

Intended for my model but too big. I even double checked after realizing it was wrong to make sure I ordered the right one. I tried it anyway because I was in a hurry and rounded the nut. It was my fault. The OEM key is much more expensive, but in this case. just invest in the right tool.

Pros
  • Adjustable wrench
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

Used this to remove a whirlpool wrench 21366

. Removing a wrench nut is PITA, you really need that wrench so you can hit it with a hammer. One trick to removing the nut: not only do you need to spray penetrating oil on the threads you see on the 389140 drive block the wrench nut is screwed in, but you also need to spray oil under the wrench nut where it meets the top tab on the inner pan . The bottom of the wrench is flared to fit the internal tank expander and it will likely get stuck there due to corrosion so you'll have to break it up…

You won't need it often, but it works well when you do

This 1-11/16 wrench fits the tank nut on my top loading GE washer. I had to do a major overhaul that involved removing the tank nut and then reinstalling it. I did not use a wrench to remove the tank nut as it was "frozen" after 9 years of corrosion and limescale. If yours is rusty, you probably won't be able to remove it with a wrench; Use a good quality 1/2" 1-11/16 cordless impact wrench (available here at Revain). I used a wrench to tighten the tank nut as cordless impact wrenches should…
