The paper is not 60 pounds. - Art, Painting & Craft Supplies

This is a very good paper but I'm not sure if it's .005" thick and 60lbs, some other standard 60lbs I have are .010 Customs service. About twice as thick. The standard college rule I use is 0.035". NOT as advertised. (I used a Brown & Sharpe caliper for all measurements)

Pros
  • Cool
Cons
  • Ratio Set

Paper quality and feel

Good paper for little money. What I would change is paper that has a little more tactile gradient to the sheet, it's very smooth, it can be a little bit more grippy which I think lends itself better to drawing. Other than that, it's good for the price and easily fits in a backpack for drawing on the go.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Older

The paper is smooth, but it's not critical.

This is the perfect "exercise mat" if you will. Inexpensive and high-quality paper with a dense cardboard backing. Ideal for painting on a sunny day on a patio with a piece of charcoal. The only downside (and it depends on the taste of the paper) is that some find the smooth surface a problem as some people prefer paper with more teeth. But that is a personal matter.

Pros
  • Quick Change
Cons

don't bleed! in art supplies

I gave these albums to my nephew along with a set of pens and markers and a coloring book in hopes he would become the next Van Gogh. Well, he quickly decided that he couldn't draw what was in the book. But he ended up sharing pads with his little sister because only good quality paper doesn't bleed. They are very fond of drawing with markers and this allows them to do so without destroying what is underneath. It turned out to be a nice present.

Pros
  • Freehand
Cons
  • Very expensive

Marker and ink, good. Colored pencils are missing a tooth.

This sketchbook is a great size and has good paper. I mean it's good for sketching and light ink, but I find it too thin and doesn't have enough teeth for colored pencils. I tried the Copic markers and although they went all the way through the paper I had a piece of watercolor paper behind them and none of the markers got soaked through. So the markings I think will do. I've also thought about trying watercolor but yeah I wouldn't trust that. But I bought these mainly to put in a pencil case…

Pros
  • Pack of 2 pads
Cons
  • Not as thick as the others

Good paper for drawing, but not for watercolouring.

Great value for a pair of very handy drawing tablets. And these are SKETCH tablets, not watercolor paper. I've written and drawn on it with Uniball rollerballs and a good fountain pen and none of it has spilled. Note that they're listed as a 60-pound paper, which can be confusing. Paper weight is specified in several different standards. Most of us are familiar with the paper used in copiers and printers, most commonly weighing 20 pounds. LINK. The paper in these flatbeds is 60lb offset, which…

Pros
  • Acid-free, off-white, pH neutral, spiral bound, easy to remove
Cons
  • Damaged

A good notepad for sketches or drawings, but not for production.

Nice pillow. The paper is of reasonable thickness, but feels like it's just a few steps taller than printer paper. It's not as smooth and smooth as printer paper, it has a bit more roughness, but it draws well. For the production you will probably be disappointed. I only use it for sketching outliers, just for practice, and it's very useful for that. The notebook itself is very thick as it has 100 individual pages. And while it's small, the thickness doesn't make it as portable as I thought it…

Pros
  • Ideal for writing, drawing and sketching. Can be used with pens, markers, pencils, etc.
Cons
  • Expensive
