Better than the original?

Installed on a 2010 Ford Escape. The left gate never fully extended, and I continued to headbutt. Took me 10 minutes to install the new racks and they are great! The tailgates go up, which I think has never happened before. I can't say anything about the durability, but for the price and the performance so far so good.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Available in white only

Works great: Replacement parts

They were a bit difficult to put on. You need to put something on the tailgate to fully extend it. You must dress them fully undressed. They cannot be compressed. Otherwise you just take off the old "C" rings. Take off the old shock absorbers and put them on. They are powerful and hold the back door like the wind.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Weak

Old people can do that

For the first time in my 70 years I looked online for a spare part for my car. I usually went to dealers or parts stores. I pretty much knew how much it would cost, or at least I thought I did. When I searched the Internet for spare parts and saw the cost, I was pleasantly surprised. In general, the impressions are very pleasant.Thank you, I will do it more often

Pros
  • Years of probationary period
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Warning very dangerous product

After installing shock absorbers on my Mariner head gate I opened the gate for the third time as usual. The gate was fully open and both lower ball attachment points allowed the dampers to disengage. As a result, a very heavy gate fell down and hit me in the head. Oh. Now when I open it, I hold the tailgate until it's fully raised. If a child were to open these, it would certainly result in serious injury or death.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Modern

It was surprisingly easy to remove the old rack and replace with one.

It was surprisingly easy to remove the old frame and replace it with the new one. All you need is a small flat head screwdriver to loosen the small metal clip on the old post. The new toothed rack engages with manual force. The whole process took about fifteen seconds. I wish every repair was that easy! The new rack is so powerful that I only replaced one. I keep the other one in reserve. If both are replaced, the door/window will open with too much force.

Pros
  • Great Price
Cons
  • No Gun

Lifting legs will not compress

The pair I received may have been abnormal, but the lifting legs I received failed to compress. With all my weight (more than it should have been!), I wasn't able to compress these air jacks even a fraction of an inch. The overall length was too long due to the inability to compress the drivetrain so I couldn't install them on my 2003 Ford Escape. Even if I could install them, it would be too difficult to close the top gate. Disappointing given the success of other reviewers. It would be nice…

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • No instructions

Just like OEM support

I ordered these for my husband's Ford Escape. They fit perfectly and went in seconds. They were the same shape and size as the Stock Jacks and moved in exactly the same way. It took about a minute to remove the old supports and install these. They come with no instructions, but you simply remove the old ones using a flathead screwdriver to pry the little tab/strip at the end of the old supports, after which they pop off immediately. They simply snap into place without tools. You will need a…

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product
