I love Susan Bates Series with built in hooks! I find that crocheting with them is a lot smoother, definitely not as tiring for my hands (carpal tunnel, arthritis) and it's a lot quicker. I take all sizes!

The previous reviewer was right this hook is worse than we expect from this brand. The metal is definitely rough, just the part that grabs and pulls the yarn is nowhere else. I have dozens of hooks from this brand and this is the only one. Possibly a bad batch and poor quality control?

Susan Bates seems to have gone down the drain and the new manufacturer isn't bothering about keeping their good name. The finish of the new hooks is not smooth or even smooth so they don't slide through the yarn like the old ones. The ground part of the hook (the flat area under the hook) is linear, not smooth.
