Battery life is not good for ultra events.

Once again, Suunto sugarcoats the truth about this watch's battery life. The maximum GPS setting with no beeps and a slight view of the sky gives only 17 hours on the new watch. Support tells me that 20 hours is just an estimate and can be achieved under the right conditions. Although we have not been able to restore these conditions. I tried their reset trick or let the watch run until the battery died and then charged it for 24 hours. Blah blah blah it was all BS. There's no 20 hours as…

Accessories shine. the software.eh, not so much

Suunto forces you to use their website to get data from the watch. I don't know why they do it. I think it was a silly idea because it made a lot of people I know switch to Garmin. If the website isn't available, you're stuck. The files stay on the watch, but you can't download them directly to your computer without going there first. This year the site has already been down twice (and that was only in March) for more than a day each time. I found a workaround, but it's a bit painful. A good…

Information I want

I was a former Polar and Garmin user. I bought it when it was half the price. The battery life is impressive. I use it daily for cycling, running, trekking and sleep recovery testing. After 9 days I still have 34% battery left. That's definitely enough for the 5-day Appalachian Trail hike I plan to do next month. Love the fast GPS acquisition and the ability to view distance, speed, heart rate, averages, distance, elevation and barometric pressure trends. Pretty amazing device. It was approved…

Pros
  • Stable test results

Must use Movescount app

The description should say that the settings are done through the Movescount app, not on the watch. Intervals start at 10 minutes, which is a lot longer than I'm used to, and the only way to access this setting is through Movescount. I made all these settings, downloaded and synced Movescount (and I have to keep restarting my phone to keep it in sync) and reset some of my settings (12 hour time instead of 24 hour and metric instead of imperial measurements ). ). I have an android phone. The…

Favorite running watch - great multisport features

My favorite running watch! I split between Garmin and Suunto as Garmin is much more popular in the US. I am very happy with my decision to purchase this watch. I've walked hundreds of miles and found the GPS incredibly accurate. I've even run a half marathon trail in dense forests in deep mountain valleys and the watch beeped the mile marker within 10ft of the sign every time! It tracks cadence from the wrist, so it's not the most accurate, but it's accurate enough. Workout Builder is a pretty…

Great watch with great utility.

I have been enjoying the watch for the past week and have been impressed by its usefulness. I've used it for running and cycling so far. The fact that the watch is connected to movecount.com and their app makes it easy to track and plan workouts. It's very convenient and not as bulky as I thought. I wear them every day whether I'm working out or not. The watch shows your speed, altitude, location and temperature, and other stats. The only thing they don't show is heart rate unless you buy a…

Rugged on-the-go watch with some really buggy features

A good watch if You want to track your progress, e.g. B. running, cycling and hiking. I use it for cycling and mountaineering and it gives me accurate results on how fast I'm going and at what altitude. I have 3 problems with this watch: The storm alarm is completely useless. Every time I turn it on, it turns off after about 5 minutes even though it's clear day outside. The temperature display is switched off. The watch normally gives accurate readings when it's off, but as soon as you put it…

Pros
  • Connect an Ambit3 Peak to your smartphone to sync your activities, set up on the go and see calls and notifications on the watch
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

It's big, bulky, heavy and clunky. It's also a fantastic GPS watch.

A few months ago I decided to find a replacement for my 2 year old TomTom Runner. It was a good watch and did a great job, but TomTom just didn't develop the entire platform/ecosystem other than the basic hardware and a basic training analysis website. At the same time, in the last 3-4 months I have started using swimming and road cycling as a supplement to cross training. Neither of these actions can be accurately measured with my old watch, so the decision was made that I needed a new, better
