Parts work as advertised

I used all the tools to repair the heater and air conditioning valve on my 2012 Mercedes Benz S550 W221 M278. Without the tool I would still be working on it. Hose picks won't tear the hose, and the clamps on the pliers are adjusted to the fittings that hold the hoses.

Band clam works fine.

I used band clamp pliers to remove the heater hose clamp that was installed on the firewall on a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0L. It worked as expected in a limited space. The awl for removing the hose is so-so. I ended up using a flat head screwdriver to break the corrosion seal on the radiator nipples after cutting a slit in the hoses. Shila should work better in open areas.

Works with some clumsiness

locking mechanism works great. However, the metal "tabs" rotate freely and are never in the correct position to attach to the clamps. I have to fiddle with them and try to keep them from turning while I put them on the yoke. A simple design change to keep the tips where you put them would be a huge improvement. They did the job, but not much easier to use than pliers.

Cheap Plier Stuff

later So I bought this with plenty of time to make my "BIG" Thanksgiving weekend project. Now that I bought this oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh I don't have time to return it. A pair of pliers broke the tip of the clip after I used it 2-3 times. "NOW" I can't get it back and I'm stuck. The material looks like cheap cast iron or aluminum. I wouldn't buy it again. If I had any problems I would go to my local parts store.

Very helpful when changing the cooler.

These tools came when the radiator was replaced. Clamp removal and hooks were great for old hoses, especially small power lines. The clamp holder moves when clamping. This is because you can move your hand while clamping. This is ideal for tight spaces. It would be bad if I didn't have them. These metal clips cannot be removed with pliers. At least for me.

Clamping pliers VERY difficult to handle

The swivel head pliers required for flat band clamps are difficult to handle. They twist so easily and so violently that it is very difficult to grab the clip and apply pressure. It keeps slipping off the clip and then the locking feature makes it difficult to unclip and try again. I didn't expect that from a pair of pliers. Other round head pliers are useless for flat clamps. Collections work fine. It was a cheap set and I got what I paid for. A little. Now I have to look for a really usable…
