I bought it because of USB functionality. I'm an IT professional so I'm not new to computers and not trying to make things work. The instructions say that for USB video you need Mpeg2, AVI or VOB format and no more than 640x480. I converted all my movies to each of these formats after the subsequent ones wouldn't play. I have read many reviews and researched a lot about Car DVD TV System. We travel a lot and thought it was about time to get this. My son was very excited. Here's what I noticed about this product.1. The screen size is very good, it's very large for our small headrest and small hands, but it helps when several children try to look at the same screen. The features we wanted, the ability to pause playback in the event of a power outage, had to be selected from the menu options (which I couldn't manage before driving the car for the first time). Worked for several months and when it worked it was fine but now it clicks, the DVD won't load and when it does load it does keeps jumping and freezing. Also, one of the strap loops came loose when attaching it to the car's headrest. It's a flimsy plastic loop (i.e. poor design) and broke when tightening the strap at normal tension. Rating is based on a 10 inch dual screen DVD player. Received them within 2 days of purchase (go Revain!) and they worked great on our 10 hour trip.
