The best thing for the money, I'm glad I chose this option.

Got pros: Good to use on vacation as a universal lens, large zoom, price, lens hood included, good lens cap. I use it as a permanent lens. Some cons: there is no stabilizer, and it’s a bit dark for evening shooting, but this is tolerable, at a long focus it’s better to lean on something when shooting.

Reliable product for all occasions, quality on par.

For the money - a great lens! It is very convenient to carry the camera around your neck with this lens - the weight of the lens is less than 500 grams. Ideal for traveling - you can shoot a narrow street from a wide angle and reach the weather vane on a high tower. They do very well in portraits. In general - I recommend! Pros below: Big zoom. Little weight. Fairly fast. Very sharp. Small price. Has cons: The far end is lathered 200-250. It has a tendency to spontaneously extend when the…

This lens does not focus in Live View

I just bought a Nikon D5100 to use with a Tamron 18-250mm lens. To my surprise, the lens doesn't focus when you switch the camera to Live View. I tried the Nikon lens that came with the camera and another Nikon lens, both with Live View autofocus. I called Tamron tech support and confirmed that the lens does not autofocus in Live View, but if I send them the lens they can set it up to work in Live View. I don't normally use Live View very often, so it's not a big deal, but with the D5100's…

Tamron 18-250 lens has short lifespan

I bought this lens in 2010 and it worked mostly as advertised. Of course, being a wide-angle zoom lens, I'm not a professional looking for money, but I like to show off my photos with some pride. Up until the end of 2013 this lens worked well and met my needs. Then the autofocus motor or drive components would start to drag, preventing the lens from focusing while the motor struggled and clicked to complete the action. The lens was expensive enough that I just started researching the cost of a…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Poor performance

Looks good, the price is reasonable, but a pity. SO.

I bought this lens for two reasons: 1) to have a multi-purpose lens while on vacation and 2) an extra focal length of up to 250mm (Nikon equivalent stops at 200mm). Fortunately, during my trip to Indonesia, the lens worked more or less normally. I only had to unscrew/twist the lens from time to time because the camera (Nikon D90) didn't recognize the lens. But lately the lens' autofocus feature has died for me and hasn't come back. Apparently this happened AFTER the warranty expired. My advice…

For the money I love it

For the money this is the best investment I've ever made for my Nikon D70 A non-contrast subject, but I was able to compensate by switching it slightly to a subject with some contrast moved and then moved it back. It helped and I can live with that. The construction is solid and the size and weight are impressive. Focuses well and fast enough for me. The internal motor chirps a bit, but that's the nature of the lens motor and I'm fine with that as long as it's running. 6 year guarantee help. I…

4 1/2 stars. VERY satisfied

So I received this product with full confidence that it will be of high quality except maybe for durability. When I received it I was thrilled (I've been using 30 year old bindings for a few months). Needless to say, I love the lens to death. It's clear that it's fragile, but what lens isn't? There are two reasons I give it 4 1/2 stars. The main reason is that the autofocus does not work 100% correctly. I know no autofocus is going to work 100%, but with this lens the lighting has to be really…

I am satisfied, the purchase is quite successful.

Of the travel zooms on canon, it is the best in terms of price-quality ratio (picture). The mechanics are budgetary, the Sigmas are somehow made more durable, but the optics and pattern are rather weak. nothing new to say. After 2 years of intensive work, the zoom became harder and does not move out as actively as at the beginning, perhaps the plastic has worn out. If you meet on sale, it's quite a nice thing.

Pros
  • good plastic pattern, colors, FR range, dimensions, weight.
Cons
  • likes aperture 7.1-8, no stub, not enough sharpness and too much HA at 250 mm. little backlash, the new one has a very light zoom, the trunk itself leaves. There are no new ones for sale.
