Quickly became one of my favorite lenses

Spoiler alert. I'm a big Tamron fan and all my favorite lenses for my Canon T series cameras are Tamron. This is my newest addition and has quickly become my most used lens. I mainly shoot nature and this lens is great for that. Much lighter than a similar gun and I like the optics better.

This lens is pretty good, the only downside I can see is obviously it's only a lens once you get down to around 230-270mm, the autofocus is pretty hard to figure out but that was it to be expected with such an inexpensive lens. It doesn't feel cheap like a pair of Canon lenses I've had before. I say if you're looking for a good hiking lens, this is it. Great all round lens

I received this lens earlier this year and was hesitant to buy due to concerns about sharpness and chromatic aberration. I found this lens to be everything I expected from it, and I found that I just didn't care about a little softness or aberrations. I'm good with Photoshop to fix the latter. And as long as the main subject is in focus and I have a good composition, I don't care what the sharpness looks like in the corners. Pros: - Huge zoom range - Good weight/construction - Lens hood…

Love this versatile lens

I have a Canon 40D DSLR. Previously I used a Canon 17-85 lens and a Canon 55-250 lens. I've had this Tamron 18-270 for four weeks. I sold my Canon lenses and now only have a Tamron 18-270. So this lens has become my "running" lens. I like that I have the option to switch from wide angle to high telephoto. Some reviewers have complained about scaling difficulties due to the effort required. If you increase the range you want, it's fine. If you stop halfway to the desired area and then try to…

Great Lens Great Price

After doing a lot of research on different types of zoom lenses, I settled on the Tamron AF 18-270MM VC lens. I am planning a trip to Alaska and was looking for a good lens with enough zoom to get close to the various wildlife I will encounter on a cruise/tour. I have a Tamron 28-300mm zoom with no stabilization which is a great lens but you will need a tripod to stabilize the lens at extreme zooms or to shoot at very high speeds and low ISO which is not always possible is. When I got the…

Great versatile lens!

I was very concerned before purchasing this lens for my Canon EOS Rebel T2i 18MP CMOS APS-C DSLR with 3.0" LCD and EF-S 18 -55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS lens (I just got the body from another seller - couldn't wait for Revain :-) Many of the reviews touched on the very issues that matter most to me: sharpness ( my obsession), AF response time and lens creep. I have to say after over a week of use and hundreds of shots I'm very happy with it. This lens is as good as my previous image stabilized Canon EF-S…

Impressive - compared to kit and L-series

Comparisons were made in a stable environment: camera stabilized on a hard table, aimed at the same high-contrast target, with the same lighting, camera settings and distances . Stability control has been disabled. In some cases it was necessary to focus manually because the autofocus did not work (depending on the lens). Lenses for comparison: * Tamron 18-270 * Canon IS 28-135 lens * Canon L series 70-200 mounted on a Canon 60D outdoors) I was surprised by the good image quality. Much like the
