A nice option for the money, one of the best deals.

A very good all-rounder for the money. I took it in 2022 for 30 It is hellishly convenient when traveling - the range of focal lengths is what you need. Gives a nice, voluminous picture. Not bad for portraits, from 150 mm blurs the background nicely. Most sharp at f8-f11. The stabilizer is very good, easily gives 3 stops from above. The picture is slightly soapy at 100% crop, when compared with fixes and expensive zooms. But in practice, for the web and for printing small photos - a greatโ€ฆ

The best product, from those that I have viewed, I advise everyone!

Somehow I got tired of carrying 28-70 and 80-200 on holidays and trips - it was hard and constantly had to be refastened. For six months I went with 24-120 / 4 - good, but a bit short. My friends gave me my native Nikkor 28-300 for a couple of weeks - I was not impressed (maybe I got such a copy). I took this tamronchik in an online store at random, since there were no reviews or real reviews on it (only performance characteristics). And I didn't guess. Now it only occasionally and only a fewโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Versatile, fairly light and compact all-in-one lens. For such a zoom ratio, it is surprisingly sharp over the entire range of focal lengths (edges and corners lag behind at the long end, but only lovers of pixel-by-pixel viewing will notice this), CA is practically absent. effective stabilizer. Strict laconic design (does not affect the optical properties, but still nice).
Cons
  • For a couple of years I did not find any critical shortcomings that interfere with shooting. I would like a focus speed like 24-70 / 2,8, a picture of 85 / 1,4 and a constant aperture of 1,2 .

Great travel lens for the price!

As an avid photographer with over 10 years experience in both film and digital photography, after reading many other reviews I have to say the following: 1. Stop buying this lens Canon "L" or compare Nikon "G"". The price of this lens is less than half the cost of professional lenses. Did you really think this lens was made to challenge premium lineups? 2. Stop the Pixel -Snooping your images. Your photographic and artistic skills will not be limited by the lack of perfectly sharp images atโ€ฆ

Great all-purpose travel lens for everyday photographers

Supporting ByDucrab's review. If you are considering this lens, read his (her?) review, I think it fits the analysis. I'm not a professional photographer but I have Sony cameras from the mid 80's starting with the Maxxum 7000 so I always have a camera for family gatherings, travel etc. I recently got a full frame Sony Alpha 99 as an 'upgrade' " of my Alpha 77. I have several Tamron APC lenses for my a77, so it was only natural that I look at Tamron for my a99. In short, this lens is excellentโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • New competitors have arrived

I have a Canon 6D and so far a Tamron 24-70 f/2.8 and a Canon 70-200 f/2.8 also for occasional shots because there was no suitable option for me. that I liked or wanted to spend money on. That is, until I found this. I can't believe I didn't notice this lens before. Turns out it's something I really enjoy shooting with! I had to fine tune the telephoto end to -5 but left the wide end at zero. I can say that after some photo testing I found that it was pretty sharp at 28mm, a little blurry atโ€ฆ

So far, so good. I'm walking around with two cameras

Edit: March 29th 2019 - just had to go back and add that this lens is compatible and the auto focus works with my new Canon EOS R body which I just received. fedex no more than 30 minutes ago! I received a Tamron lens for my Canon 5D II on April 17th, 2018 about a year ago and my original review is below. Received a new Canon EOS R today, although I have read many reviews that this lens, the Tamron 28-300, will NOT work with the Canon EOS R and Tamron has stated that they currently have noโ€ฆ

Great lens for on the go! c Camera lenses

I am preparing for a vacation abroad and need to travel light. I originally intended to bring a full frame DSLR and three zooms (combined coverage 16-200mm) but quickly gave up on that idea due to the number of lenses and the WEIGHT! So I started my search for the "ideal" travel lens that would meet the following requirements (in this order): wide focal range, good image quality, small and light, and reasonable price. Needless to say, I didn't have high hopes. Okay, first the focal length. Iโ€ฆ

This lens works with the Canon EOS R

I just bought this lens for my EOS R. I was a little nervous when I heard some people saying it wouldn't work. I also called Tamron's service center and was told the lens was considered "not 100% fully functional on the EOS R" and was advised to look at other lenses they approved. However, I've also heard that this will work, but there may be functional issues when using lens aberration correction. In any case I don't use any of these settings as I use DXO Photolab 2 which fixes everythingโ€ฆ
