Cracks easily for interior and exterior paint

The paint is soaked through the paper and the filter is blown out with a half gallon of latex paint. I used a second one, very carefully this time, applying the color little by little, and the same thing happened again. It's kind of a defeat of purpose when the filter breaks while the color filters. It's a big pack so I figure I'll have to use a few at a time or switch them up after every pint or so.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • I don't have much to complain about it's fine

Come on, they're fine.

I spray a lot of nitrocellulose and Target EM water-based paint. Shellac is also made from flakes. These filters work great with both surfaces. Others here said there was an issue with the blue mesh coming off the cone, poor quality glue, or generally unacceptable quality. This was definitely not the case with the batch I just bought and tried. (190) micron FINE filter. My guess is that they may have (7/2020) changed the glue they use to assemble them. highlighted.

Worked great with old latex paint

I had a gallon of 2 year old satin latex paint that I wanted to use for a small project. You know that, you open a can and there's rust on the edge. Then you start painting and you have little spots of rust on your work. This product allowed me to easily filter the color. I didn't rate it as very durable; I don't know why they even asked as it seems to me that this is just a one time thing. I threw it away after use. He worked as he should. Good price small price not to buy another gallon or…

Ideal for paints, but not for solvents

Very good filters. I use it to filter woodworking varnish and it removes pretty much everything. You can use something smaller if you want to filter out 100% of all impurities. The paint wears off quickly and overall I'm very happy with it. It's definitely a disposable filter, although I've tried cleaning with nail polish thinner and even filtering my nail polish thinner with it, and the glue holding the mesh in place melts very quickly. So definitely not for use with any solvents. Also, my…

Great value for money and a MUST HAVE for any airbrush artist.

I actually rip off the screen and put it under the cap of my airbrush paint bottles. Has worked well so far and I can't complain about the ease of straining my paint when pouring it from the bottle. I also add marbles to my bottles and after some use I inspected the strainer and it doesn't appear to have stretched or warped due to the marble. Of course I'll have to replace the screen at some point, but the number of screens you get in this pack will take a LONG time using this method. each…

Not very suitable for solvent-based paints!

Do not recommend these screens for solvent based coatings as the adhesive holding the mesh failed miserably on first use. It is not possible to return them as I was traveling and returned home after the return window closed. So far, in 30 years, the paint screen has not failed once. They may work on varnish and spirit based paints but definitely not on varnish or catalytic urethane coatings. I'll double them and see if that can help as I'm stuck with them. Update 7/12/2017: A few more failed…

No color maybe a stain

At first glance the filters appear to be ok. I tested them first with some kind of stain I had on hand that was slowly dissolving, but it worked so I thought so far so good. then the weather got better and the paint came off. FYI, I only ordered these for color use, not stain. However, I found them completely unsuitable for drawing. I used latex paint that was heavily thinned and still all I got was drips, drips, drips from the screen. I tried it twice, two different screens with equally…
