This vest changed everything

My husband absolutely loves this vest. We live in Arizona and he rides his motorcycle hundreds of miles a week to work. Summer can be exhausting. This vest makes it much better for him. He soaks it in water and wears it under his riding jacket. His riding jacket is ventilated allowing air to flow over this vest providing air/water cooling. He says this vest changed everything.

Working time? Um, not really.

I bought this cooling jacket for summer rides. Yesterday I soaked it in water for the specified time, squeezed out just enough water so it didn't drip like crazy when I put it on, and then went for a walk. The outside temperature was between 88 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Cooling ended in about an hour and 45 minutes, including about 20-25 minutes indoors while shopping. Bottom line: while he was working he was great and if I can spend almost 2 hours with him over the summer I'm happy. However…

PPE worth every penny

This product is awesome! I am a heat sensitive person and bought this cooling vest when my family went to Disneyland when the temperature was in the triple digits. I soaked it in the sink for the recommended time and zipped it up to carry in my bag until I needed it. The vest becomes heavy when it absorbs all the water. Once put on, it doesn't feel heavy as the weight is evenly distributed. I went for a walk in the scorching 105 degree sun without even realizing I was doing it. At one point my…

Buy with care Vests

We have used 3 of these vests in 3 weeks of motorcycling. We probably used them daily for about 2 weeks. BAD: One of the vests no longer holds water. We've gone through all the soaking procedures etc and the bad one has worked for about 1 week but no longer swells to hold water. Secondly, it is important to note that the material of the vest is attached to the velcro and repeated removal of the velcro will cause wear and tear. Material. GOOD: When running, it worked very well. We have ridden…

Good product! for personal protective equipment

I have many years of positive experience with cooling scarves. This product is no different. It relies on evaporation to keep you cool, so it works better in places with lower humidity. You don't want to overexpose any of these foods, nor do you want to "squash" them. You can push part of the gel through the material. This will make it "slimy" and eventually the vest will no longer be effective once the gel is removed. Do not follow the "soak" instructions. Instead, spray water inside and out…

Motorcycling - Vests

I soaked it in water, it was heavy. Wring it out several times to avoid water dripping. Weighs okay. Put on my perforated leather jacket, still good. Went for a ride. When driving in 87 degrees; Warm air cools you down and after a while you get hot. I didn't feel any warm air. It cooled the incoming air. Riding in this vest is weird though, I can't explain why. It's not dripping and you can feel cool air rushing in, but you can feel a damp heaviness on your body, although the humidity isn't an…

Video shows what it's like to wear it wet

I thought wearing this vest when it got wet was like getting wet with a giant sponge but it's not. It gets a little wet, but not much. Instead, the water evaporates slowly, taking your heat with it. (Well, when riding a motorbike in dry heat, it evaporates faster. So the rate of evaporation really depends on the situation.) Of course, you can't use this vest in high humidity. It just won't help. For this reason I also have a cooling vest to put in the freezer. This one is very cold and the only

Worked very well in the muggy 98 degree heat

This was a panic buy as the weather for the long awaited motorcycle trip was forecast well into the 90's. After reading the reviews I ordered the medium which is a size smaller than what I probably would have ordered. It was still a little loose in places - I could feel the hot wind underneath. But just enough to fit my body and it worked very well. Combined with wet sun sleeves and a hat under a helmet, I held out until the weekend. With elasticated sides, I think this size will fit my husband

How I love you? Let me count the ways

How do I love you? let me count the ways I understand that the technology of this vest is not unique. However, this is a cooling vest that I bought in anticipation of a motorcycle trip to San Miguel Allende, Mexico. I live in Los Angeles. Maybe I bought this vest because of the cheap price and more secondary because of the design. After all, this was my first purchase of a cold vest. what did i know It is now April 2018. I am currently riding my motorcycle in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. I…
