A definite improvement over the Sharkbite stamped steel clamp Type

I paid about $23 for this tool. About twice the price of a Sharkbite branded instrument. But that alone saved me a lot more time and headaches than the added cost. Works great with Sharkbite PEX, CPVC and PB fittings. If you're playing around with more than one or two devices, I definitely recommend spending a few bucks more. Such a time and effort saver!

Pros
  • Heavy Duty

Much better and easier than other options!

I was remodeling a mud room with a water heater and was looking for an easier way to remove the plug connections and bought this and I'm so glad I did considering I've had the pipes 3 more times had to remove to complete the rebuild! Works great and saved me money! Soon I will switch to PEX pipe and use fittings permanently. Thanks to this tool that makes installation so much easier!

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Useless Features

Well built tool, requires onboard storage for optional faceplates

Looks solid and the ratchet is nice. If you use a lot of PEX piping, it's worth the investment. Doesn't mix up fittings and allows you to loosen the pipe without having to push and pull the fitting. It would be nice to have extra bezels on board as I know (because they're small and flat black) I'll lose them pretty quickly if I'm not careful.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Expensive

Time Saver: Pipes, Fittings & Accessories

I've been using Shark Bite Fittings for about 4-5 years and consider them the best since inventing Sliced Bread. Unfortunately, due to arthritis and age, the strength of my hands and forearms has deteriorated so much that I can no longer remove the hardware with the manufacturer's orange plastic tool. I researched this product and after reading the ratchets and tool locks I decided to buy it. What a great invention. It solves all your hardware removal problems without much hassle.

Pros

Cons

But works great. Best in Pipes, Fittings and Accessories

This tool is very durable and works as intended. However, the "big" side of the tool only works with specific ports that its side fits around. Not all fittings have the same diameter. For example, plastic fittings are typically larger in diameter than brass fittings. This renders the tool useless for plastic fittings or others that do not match the side diameter. I found this SharkBite tool (SharkBite PROD3810) with AUTO ADJUSTABLE sides that works well with all the brass and plastic fittings…

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • No instructions
