Tekonsha 3020 P Control Wiring Adapter Review

Wiring harness works and connects to under dash connector wire as expected. no broken cables or the like, the plug is in order and not broken. Works as it should.

My truck came with a connector cable for the brake controller and the brake controller also came with a connector cable, but this pre fitted cable made installation easy. It works great and looks a lot cleaner than a bunch of spliced wires or heat shrink tubing.

The hardest part of installing this adapter was finding the blue connector that it was supposed to plug into on my 2008 Dodge Ram 1500. Turns out it's not directly above the junction box like all the manuals and online videos say. , they bind it to the firewall. You just have to be brave enough to pull it hard enough to make it fall. Once you do that, you're done. Turned on the P3 controller with no problems.

I bought this to transfer my Tekonsha Prodigy brake controls to my new 2000 Dodge 3500 Cummins. I bought the truck used and didn't have a factory Prodigy seat belt connector pigtail so figured I'd buy the whole wiring harness and keep my Ford wiring harness in case I needed it for another truck. I've had the same Prodigy controller for 11 years now and it still works. This wiring harness is under my dash and connected to my controller. Two screws to attach the controller and you're done.

Was a quality product that worked very well. Had some concerns about the first connection because the colors of the wires, although the same color, were in different places at the end of the connector from the side of the car. I suspect Dodge used a different color code for the cable function. The only wire that worked was the blue trailer brake wire.
