Handy mount for Tekonsha P3 controller

If you shorten the back of the case a bit it works fine with the P3 controller. I used a dremel to sand down about 1/8" of the back of the case to allow the harness connector to connect to the controller as the existing hole would otherwise partially cover it. It is currently attached to my F-150 with velcro direct attached under and to the right of my steering wheel, but I have to use a different velcro as velcro is stronger than velcro; I end up peeling the velcro from the surface it's on…

Almost perfect solution

This is a great product for removing the brake controls and being able to use them on multiple trucks without having to buy controls for each truck! You simply unplug the device, take it out of your pocket and place it in another vehicle. Or you can just delete it to avoid theft if you like. I would give 5 stars if it weren't for some awkward mounting holes. The design seems to suggest that you're drilling holes for the first time, rather than trying to line up holes already drilled like many…

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

As stated. The P3 will not fit in this mounting case without a minor modification to the case itself. There is a small plastic "step" on the back of the case to make room for the connector cable plug for any device housed in this case must become. But that's not enough for P3 - its plug is shifted to one side (on the wrong side), and after connecting the connection cable, P3 doesn't slide completely into the pocket. You will need to cut a piece of plastic about 1 x 1/4 inch from the back to…
