I was skeptical at first but this is a surprisingly good power supply

I needed this for a test bench power supply for some 12v hardware my employer sent me to evaluate. Instead of going down the cheap PC PSU route, I went with something with more consistent performance. I first bought another brand from Revain and it was dead on arrival. I've been waiting for a refund for two months but that's another story. Thanks Revin Let's get back to this device. In fact, I liked its consistent power so much that I decided to use it in one of my hams. I thought I had noise…

Super PSU for converter

Super PSU, works great. In the picture I have installed a voltmeter intended to be connected to the cigarette lighter socket. It was cheap to buy from Revain and a good addition to the power supply, there is a digital readout of the voltage. The voltage on the digital display is typically 13.8V and fluctuates very slightly, up to 13.7, which I would say is very stable. I have no voltage drop when transmitting and so far it has stayed very cold without having to turn on the fan. The regulated…

Loud little fan. - Energy accessories

First impression. I've only been working with him for a day, but I wanted to give my two cents. Overall, the device makes a very reliable and functional impression. I use it to transmit a Hytera MD-655 DMR radio and have been told that my transmission is completely silent and silent. Oddly enough, I can't say much about the silence on my desk. When I turn on this power supply, the fan turns on. Even when I turn off the radio (no load on the horsepower), the fan is still running at full speed. I

Very good stock for ham radio

I bought this to use with my Yaesu FT-2900R and it works great. No switching noise when transmitting or receiving in the 2m band. Noise Offset works well when you need it. To test, I turned on an AM radio tuned to 820kHz and placed it near a power source. The switching noise was about 1000 cycles per second with the noise offset turned fully counterclockwise. Turning the Offset knob clockwise about 20 degrees eliminated the noise completely. Voltage regulation is pretty good, but you won't be…

  • Sturdy construction

Poor build quality, LOTS of RF noise. NOT FOR AMATEUR USE!

Poor design and cheap parts. This power supply introduced a lot of RF noise, especially on 20, 40 and 80 meters. The noise was random AND spurious at intervals of about 35 kHz. Also, after about 2 days of use, the fan started whistling when cold and was quite loud (fan volume wasn't bad until it started rattling). After examining the PSU, I found that the fan is VERY poor quality. , which is not surprising given the price of the PSU, but easy to replace. In the case of radio interference, the…

Exceeds expectations

The old power supply I had for my hams was dry and beyond repair so I did a little research before replacing it with this one. I was hesitant to buy it because I was wondering what I would get for just $100 and I still have an unwarranted prejudice against things made in China. "Made in China" has meant cheap in terms of quality and price for decades. Old installations die hard. In truth, I've found that electronics made in China are even better than those made in Japan. This power supply is…
