🔧 TEKTON 55-Piece 1/4 Inch Drive 6-Point Socket and Ratchet Set (5/32-9/16 in., 4-14 mm) - SKT05301 Review

I spend a lot of time in the garage working on cars, motorcycles, bikes, etc - using multiple sets of wrenches, ratchets, sockets, screwdrivers, etc. Compared to Snap-On, MAC , Craftsman and other well-known ones Brands are the best considering the price. I prefer them to other brands (I won't name them) that cost more than three times as much.

Bought to replace a $450 truck tool kit that was stolen from my truck. I couldn't be happier with it and it has held up VERY well. The only thing that confuses me is the position of the sockets in the case, there is a lot of free space and I have a feeling that the case could be smaller because of that. However, the "bag" is very practical for tailgate repairs and needs space so that screws etc. are not forgotten. Soon I will buy the sets 3/8 and 1/2.

I bought this set because I wanted hex sockets to prevent rounding of softer, smaller nuts and bolt heads. It comes in all sizes, even the elusive 5.5 used in some door windows. I put an old set of bits in a little pocket in the suitcase and this makes it the perfect 'pick it up and go' set. Great little headset set, it comes in a little bag on my cart for quick work, the heads are very well made there are no gaps A plus, meaning you always have the socket you need, up to 14mm, the sockets seem to stay in place when travelling, there is a nice little space for extra sockets or tools (on the left page of the organizer). If you read my review of the 3/8" set it's almost the same review but for the 1/4" set. I used my grandfather's old socket sets which must be over 60 years old. They're from the days when Craftsman wrenches were really good building tools. Unfortunately, in my opinion, that is no longer the case. I finally switched to other brands because of negative reviews about the ratchet wrench in the old version of this set. I'm glad I ended up with this updated version, even if it's a bit more expensive. At the time of purchase, the difference was just over $5, but it was worth it. Delivered quickly in a brown Tecton box. After opening the box looked fine, the locks work perfectly. A piece of cardboard was included after opening to keep the two halves from rubbing, knocking, or breaking off. The set is complete as advertised. I checked the finish on the bushings and ratchet, everything looks very nice and smooth as I've come to expect from Tekton. I checked the ratchet, it seems to be working fine. The quality seems to be as good as most tool trolley brands like Snap. But
