Ideal for tackle box.

Excellent tool for fishing. Note that there are no cutting blades in the base of the pliers, so you still need the scissors in the toolbox.

Good quality, good for hand tools

They're great. Good quality, chic and just what I wanted and needed. Slightly wider than my pliers that I use for braiding wire. I don't use them much, but they're there when I need them.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Mostly good, but...

Just right for the tiny e-clips

To tune an Italian motorcycle with Delorto carburetors you need to change the position of the needle which pulls the tiny e-clip out of the needle slot and into another slot. If you drop the E-Clip, you're SOL. These pliers make the job much easier and safer.

Pros
  • good stuff
Cons

Expensive but worth it.

I use them to build models and attach connectors to HO scale railroad tracks. I bought smooth sponges so they don't mark soft metal or plastic parts. I only needed pliers as I have other tools but if you are starting out check out Tekton's assortment kits for price per tool. cheaper than single purchase.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • So far so good

Broken Spring Replaced Quickly

UPDATE: I contacted Tekton and they sent me a new pair within days. Impressive customer service, hard to find better. I will buy from them again. FIRST REVIEW: I've had them for about 9 months and the spring broke making them another pair of pliers. I bought them specifically for the spring mechanism which makes them much easier to use. Without a spring, they are bulkier and slower to use. Too bad, because otherwise they are very good pliers.

  • Power & Hand Tools

Suitable for straightening and extracting jammed staples

My job at the moment is to prepare a large number of documents for scanning. This includes removing all brackets in these documents, and adding some new brackets literally for every page. Traditional staple removers can only straighten the staples before pulling them out, and with old documents and tons of staples, a slight bending of the staples can cause documents to break. The flat surface of the jaw is well suited for this task. Some documents may also have deeply embedded staples or even…

  • Handheld

Pretty good pliers, well made and shaped

I have used several items from Tekton over the years and in general you can expect them to be decent or even better than decent - they take time to more than just to rename a directory entries, as many import providers do. I've had a few bad choices with Tekton and I usually go for higher quality tools, but overall it's a good mid-range brand to look out for first. I have the smooth jawed version of these pliers and they really are great - no reason not to give them a solid 5. I can also get…
