Unreliable mountain rope collar

After I put it to the test, this collar proved to be a disaster. The thin rope easily frayed and broke after just a few uses. My dog ended up running loose on the street and I had to chase him down. The only positive thing about this collar is that it's affordable. Unfortunately, saving a few bucks on pet supplies isn't worth compromising safety. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

Pros
  • Strong and durable mountain rope material.
Cons
  • May pose a choking hazard for dogs if not adjusted properly.

I really liked this collar and then it broke.

We got this collar for our 9 lb. dog because the "regular" collars would chafe his neck (and yes, we keep our dogs' collars very loose). This collar was perfect but not very strong as it broke in just under 5 months. We suspect one of our other dogs chewed on it while playing and rubbed it off, and in less than a week it's worn out and breaking. Although one of our dogs could be to blame, be aware that these collars are not as strong or durable as thicker nylon or leather collars. This is…

Pros
  • ID ONLY - Not for use with a leash
Cons
  • Some bugs

I bought this leash for 3 of our dogs. A Pomeranian (at this size, almost fully retracted), Sheltie/Cattle Dog mix. After 1.5 months: I noticed my pins getting stuck in the rubber part at the adjustment point. I tightened it and I seem to collect less hair in it now. My sheltie hair doesn't tangle even though the collar is larger. Collar for herding dogs is ok (also different size). Overall I love these! I bought this old style collar many years ago and was disappointed with the metal in the…
