What an AMAZING product! I bought this kayak stand for one main reason: I'm tired of wasting valuable time hassling friends to go kayaking! I had to either borrow a truck from a friend or disrupt my group of truck kayaking friends to pick me up whenever I wanted to paddle! As a 55-year-old extremely independent woman, that was really old! When I bought my new 2018 Subaru Crosstrek, I also wanted a kayak rack that I could drive myself without damaging my new car! This item works, but it takes practice and some installation experience.

Installing our Hullavator on a 2017 Outback was no easy task, but we found a place in town that had experience. It initially took us about 30 minutes from start to finish to set up the kayak at the top. The brackets must be installed first as they are too big and bulky to leave standing permanently and also too high to get under the garage door. Assembling the bracket and installing the locking pins takes practice and now we can do it in just a few minutes. . Once in place, attaching the kayakโ€ฆ

According to the instructions, my crossbars should protrude at least 4 inches from the pedals, but I have already used the longest Aeroblade available (60 inches) on my car (2016 Ford F150). In my setup, the aerobar protruded about 1 inch from the leg package and I was afraid it wouldn't work for me, but I wanted to give it a try anyway. Glad I took the risk. found that with the Hullavator mounted on the end of the aerobar (with the end cap removed) I had about 8 inches of clearance between the
