Not bad as one might think given the price.

I ordered a 1-1/8 inlet and a 1-1/16 Steelex. Both arrived together so I did a direct comparison on a Pine 4x4 because I had one. The Steelex was slow and I felt like it hit the smallest knot like a nail. When I pulled it out there was a chip on the blade. Then I tried the tide. It cut faster, I didn't feel the knot, it ejected the shavings like a wood chipper leaving a much cleaner hole. I am returning the Steelex and buying another 2-15/16" flush. I am planning to use them on my planing…

This may work in some applications.

I'll admit it's a cheap big Forstner drill, these things are usually $60 or more at your local superstore. However, it has a small design flaw. The center of the drill is only slightly longer than the carbide tips, but that's not enough. The center broke out of the jaw I was drilling, allowing the chisel to go everywhere, giving me an oval stamped hole instead of a round, with lots of tare. This can work in metal, hardwood, or any other environment. However, this didn't work for my current…

The price is cheap, the bit suits me but with a caveat

price! Wow! Cheap! I need one Forstner bit per project to cut a hole once to install a door latch in a 1/2 inch sheet of hard plastic. First tested on a piece of scrap 2x4. up to the specified diameter - 50mm. I used a drill press to work with the clamp. So if the midpoint is too flat, as another reviewer pointed out, it didn't affect my application. Now the caveat: 50mm is NOT 1-15/16". That's close, and maybe close enough, but 50mm is 1-31/32", which is 1/32" more than the advertised English…
