ASSEMBLED WELL ON THE AXLES AND DOESN'T LEAK

I installed them on the rear axles of a Chevrolet Colorado. They look very different from standard gaskets, but they fit perfectly and are easy to assemble. Timken has always been a big name.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • No performance

Leaked a lot, do not recommend

Installed and within a week they are leaking and have ruined the new parking brakes I installed at the same time. 2002 Silverado 5.3 4WD. I don't recommend them, it's been 30 days so I can't send them back.

Pros
  • Hands free
Cons
  • Functionality

Did the job!

After 200,000 miles it's time to replace the oil seals and axle box on my truck. These gaskets went in easily and easily and now I have no more leaks! I swear by Timken products and as long as they do such great things I will continue to buy them!

Pros
  • Handy
Cons
  • Not the best

High quality for replacement parts

Timken has a very good reputation. The seals looked and felt like quality parts. With this type of axle, the bearings are lubricated with gear grease from the differential, the bearings are not clogged with grease. Good seals are essential for smooth operation. Installation went smoothly and I'm sure they will last longer than they should.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • Available in white only

Good reliable product for bearings and seals

Looks like a quality product. Whenever possible I try to use Timken seals and bearings. It looks different than the one removed from the car, but installs with minimal effort. Simply tap the edges of the old gasket and pry it out with a hammer, small pry bar, or something else. Installation is easy. Just make sure the tension axle is free of burrs and tap it with a sledgehammer and a block of wood.

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Modern
