They are not suitable for grinding wheels and discs

They are not suitable as grinding wheels. They are glued so tightly that they don't "pop". In addition, sand so penetrates the adhesive that it becomes ineffective. Dremel's flower circles may seem overpriced, but at least they work. Compared to them, they are even more overpriced because they don't work at all.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Only available in black

Excellent value flap sanders for carving spoons

They are great - very effective for the first sanding before the final sanding by hand. They're small enough to fit in the bowl of most spoons I carve and save a lot of time. I will look for more in 120 grit. This 20 pack lasts a very long time and I love attaching the rod to it.

  • Decent performance

Shaft diameter mismatch

The sanding worked just as well as any flap sander I've used before, my issue with them was the shaft/shank diameter mismatch. The 32mm wheels were fine, they fitted my dremel snugly. The 20mm wheel posts were too small and my Dremel could never tighten them until I pulled out the clamps and screwed in the clamp screw which shouldn't work as it should. Here we are talking about the difference in the width of the hair, but it was enough to change their function.

Generally not a game.

The adhesive makes them so resilient that they scrape and scuff a lot more than traditional hard abrasive discs. Cylinders are inferior to thinner petal wheels. You can barely get sandpaper to the point where it becomes exposed. It's strongly discouraged if you're trying to grind the inside of a rounded object like a spoon (my intended goal). But if you want to grind/clean a hole in a block of wood, that's great. I'm not sure if anyone ever has to do that. Also, they are very big. I was…

Grinding with a Dremel?

Participating in a project to repaint a steel security door. The door is not more than 20 years old, paint and rust are not suitable for the house. So before I applied the Rustoluem paint I wanted to get the metal as close to the bare metal as possible. Had to use different grinding tools to get the job done. First started with some sanding belts for my rotary tool (similar to Dremel). As you will find in reviews, abrasive belts don't last very long, even less than metal. So I went in search of

Pure garbage. I would literally throw them away if given to me.

The reviewer who said they match Dremel blade wheels (which convinced me to try them) apparently has never used an actual Dremel blade wheel. Even in soft wood, they burn or break down in SECONDS. I have the same size and grit Dremel serrated lock washers that I use for hardened steel and wood (I make knives) that I've been using for literally months. Now they are so small that I finally had to replace them, but they worked great until there was nothing left. This cheap junk begins to fly apart

Very hard cast iron Hudson head

12/10/19: I found a lot of glue on the cylindrical heads and grooves were cut in the aluminum which I sanded off the glue. Stop the petal effect. I hope I was really impressed with how well these flap wheels work. I've tried everything from carbide bits to stones, sanders with abrasive pads, and even grinding wheels, but this is the best I've found. Of course, it's best if you can reach the areas to be sanded, which is often a problem and therefore requires many different types of sanding…
