As a truck mechanic I would rate this tool very highly as it works very well and is very inexpensive. This is not a tool that a person in my profession uses every day, but if you need it, it will get the job done perfectly. This is one of those tools that doesn't require a huge investment and pays for itself in a single use.

This tool worked great to remove the latches. The disadvantage of this tool is that it is already covered with rust. The other problem is that they give you a small case for the adapters but it has to be a case for all the tools to keep it together. If I need a tool for everyday use this is it, but for casual use this tool would be fine if I couldn't find adapters.

I was unpleasantly surprised that KD Tools moved their product lines to Taiwan. These piers seem fine, not sure how they will hold up over time but I'm sure I'll find out soon enough. I have to say I'm disappointed but not surprised that all American instrument companies have gone to China. They seem more interested in their profits than listening to their customers! These KD 445 circlip pliers have been used for many years and I really like them. They work great and have saved a lot of time removing internal retaining rings which are often found in recesses in appliances and power tools. The pliers come with five sets of interchangeable tips of different sizes, which are easy to hold. Tips are also available separately from KD to replace if you accidentally break one.
