Not for seat post racks

I wanted to use this to pack a bike with a pannier on an MTX seat post rack. Even with minimal loading and no matter how tight I adjusted the seatpost clamp, the bag wobbled and wobbled too much, causing a lot of tire friction. Returned.

Pros
  • Practical item
Cons
  • Very expensive

Works very well best in racks

Works great with my Topeak MTX bag. I usually carry clothes or large books to and from work and need baskets. Without them, the baskets will bounce against the rear wheel. I wish there was a way to secure them with tools as it would be very easy for a thief to take them off and take them with you.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Faulty

Works, but build quality?

Fits and fits well but the bottom mounting hooks on the frame that the handlebar loops attach to are very cheaply made/fitted. While taking the product out of the box, one of the bottom loops simply unscrewed with a plastic tie. The quality of the frame and the use of pockets didn't inspire much confidence.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • The list will be long.

Very stable bike stand

I've owned one for ten years and have ridden it 1800 miles. It does an excellent job of holding the weight I put on it and I've broken the weight limit many times. A scam I found is in the clip. It's too big for most seatposts and very difficult to attach so it doesn't wobble while riding.

Pros
  • Hands free operation
Cons
  • Out of style

Easy to install and well thought out

This is a great price and a very good design. It fits easily on my Topeak Beam Stand, which I've learned attaches easily and securely. I did a simple install in 15 minutes and it's a breeze to uninstall and reinstall. Along with the basket bags I bought, I can shop for medium-sized groceries by bike. I take my hat off to the topic.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Flawless

Great rack for bike racks and bags

I find this to be a very useful rack for all my cargo when paired with the MTX Cargo Bag. Under heavy loads, it sometimes shifts from the center, but this is very insignificant. The clean seatpost and tight fit ensure this rack stays in place without too much fuss. If rack movement is your only concern I would say get this rack. I have a V-type trunk with a basket extender and I load it to the brim and go 20+ miles an hour with no problem. Good product!

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • unreliable

The Topeak system works very well for full suspension in the mountains.

The Topeak system works very well on full suspension mountain bikes where mounting is limited by the seat post. The basket frame is needed when you insert side pockets and have everything in them. If you do not use the frame, the packages can hit the rear wheel or related parts. The bags have parachute cord at the bottom which I tried to use to attach the bottom of the bags to the outside of the axle and quick release mechanism, but no matter how heavy the bags were when riding off-road, the…

Turns my Road Warrior into a commuter bike

Simple and efficient. This article saved me from swapping out my favorite frame so I could lug my laptop and change of clothes to work every day. On my seatpost I sometimes have a little trouble getting the threads properly tightened and still manage to close the latch - strong fingers help with that. There is relatively little side-to-side rocking once switched on, which was an issue prior to purchase. If you're a short rider and don't have a lot of seatpost to back it up, you may need an…
