Topo back to victory.

I rode the Topo Phantom with high damping for a year. This shoe saved my knees, but as I got better at my runs and lost weight I wanted something more responsive. The Ultrafly 3 feels like it was made for my feet. Nice, flat landing platform and "exciting". You'll feel a little more street. I wouldn't call them responsive or bouncy, but they're exceptionally comfortable for 10k runs. I will be running them in the near future until, of course, Topo makes a more responsive, wide-toed shoe.

Great stabilizing shoe with a low drop (5mm)

My mid to long distance shoe for the last 5 years has been the Brooks Pure Flow 7. It's a 4mm drop shoe that feels like a midsection feels enough. Side panels for stability. This topographic shoe also has a low drop (5mm) and has enough detail to act as a stability trainer. It's well padded. The top fit is fantastic. The spring feel is a bit spongy, but very trusting. I love this shoe. It will replace the Pure Flow 7. The toe box is wide enough to not be an issue, while the Flow 7 rubbed myโ€ฆ

Toe box is wider than altra

I have been running in altras for many years. I liked their shoes until they discontinued my favorite and started making their socks narrower and the soles thinner near the toes. I thought I'd finally take a chance and buy the Topo and so far it's a pretty good shoe (only a week since I've been running in them). The 5mm drop and heel design took a little getting used to, but I don't notice it now. The sock is really roomy (I ordered my usual size from Altra but will go half a size down nextโ€ฆ
