The kennel loves them.: Food

My GC initially wanted nothing to do with it. I thought the pellets might be too big for her. I figured I'd just sit down and cut her open to make it a little easier for her. I noticed that Koko continued to look at me through the cage. I released her and the next thing I knew she flew over to me and started eating the pellets right out of the bowl. She's been eating them since she loved them. I tried the same method with their vegetables. nothing yet. πŸ˜‚ Update. The second photo is in front of

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • New competitors have appeared

I've tried for years to get my birds switched to better quality pellets. Yes YEARS, about 30 of them. It's good to eat, but not the best nutritionally. I checked others for nutrition and found nothing that met my expectations. Remember, I have many, many varieties, from cockatiels to macaws. Eventually I broke down and invested in a top package. I opened the bag and was immediately overwhelmed by the scent. The question was would the birds be just as impressed? . you were Not only did they…

It was easy!: Food

Always a restless parrot, I noticed that my cockatoo Galah (known for her special dietary needs and the like) really only preferred a handful of food and I wanted to be sure she did was something that was balanced there. So, here's how it was. Tons of research! Contact company! All rehearsals! Grapefruit (obviously she's pink) hates all patterns! More research! Okay, finally give up and order a pound of TOPS. Get ready for the transition diet. Limit yourself to just pellets during the day…

Excellent food. - Birds

My little cockatoo has been suffering from a number of problems for a number of years. She was thin and plucked feathers. I decided to try foods that did not contain junk food and it was extremely beneficial for her. She was completely bald under her wings, on parts of her legs, and on parts of her chest. She would also mutilate all of her flight feathers. After feeding this since spring she still has all or almost all of her tail feathers, most of her flight feathers except those closest to…

Excellent at Birds

I am over the moon. 3 days ago I brought a cockatiel home from the store. I was expecting this to be stressful due to the change of scenery and the fact that the salesman at Petco was struggling with this. In fact, she found that she couldn't figure out what she liked or get her to connect with her. The poor bird was obviously wiped with a towel whenever there was something to do in the cage. I accepted the challenge but I have to admit I was a little apprehensive when he simply refused to eat…

I can't believe he's eating them!

I inherited a very demanding parrot and at 40 he is quite settled. I wanted to switch him to a better diet of whole foods and extra pellets. I tried to cook a chop, did many different things to get him to eat veggies at all, but to no avail. I mean, this bird is picky and basically wants to eat whatever it wants (usually unhealthy food). I was finally able to get him to eat more parrot friendly food and on a whim I decided to try these pellets. Much to my surprise, he liked her the first time…

birds eat it. Update completed, then no more than

My birds have been eating Goldenfeast Goldenolbes for years. Made them deal with a production slowdown at Goldenfeast. Overall, these are the closest ingredients to Goldenobles on the market. The birds seem to like them. I wasn't sure if they would like the spherical shape. This molded Rudybush is a throwing toy only. The only thing I don't like is that they smell like alfalfa to me. I'm not a big fan of the smell, but if the birds like it I'll take care of it. Update from 07/04/18 - I no…

Texture unattractive to many parrots

I really liked the ingredients as a supplement to my parrots diet. However, the texture is unappealing to many of the birds I have offered it to. In a way, it resembles alfalfa granules. While I understand the reason for less processing for better nutrition, if the birds don't eat that food is wasted. I have successfully switched many birds to pellets and vegetables which are fed primarily seed but leave a lot of waste even if the bird decides to give it a try. Birds often simply mash it into a
