The "suction cup" is a flat surface with no real suction power and the adhesive is ridiculously weak to say the least and couldn't be attached to any surface we could find (dashboard, windshield or even (in a fit of desperation LCD display for stereo.) I bought this car phone holder for my father who is in a nursing home. The mount is taped to the table next to his bed and a hand is stretched out for him to reach the phone as he has very limited mobility. I like the quick release that is on the back of the holder. This makes it very easy to remove the phone from the holder. I don't drive anymore because I'm paralyzed, but I use a lap table when I'm in a wheelchair and have decided to put a phone holder in there. Please see the image I have provided. Overall a great product. It has multiple pivot points so you can easily adjust the depth and height. Ball head rotation allows the phone to be rotated towards the driver or passenger for easier viewing and access. The width adjustment allows adjustment from small to large phones. This phone holder holds my LG G8 ThinQ with case and "Monet" phone case very well. Even on the terribly bad roads of Louisiana, the cell phone doesn't fall out of the holder.
