📶 Arris Touchstone TG1682G Wireless Telephony Cable Internet Modem Gateway DOCSIS 3.0 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Xfinity/Comcast (ISP Restrictions May Apply) Review

I purchased this item because it was approved by Xfinity/Comcast. I couldn't register the device online so I went to the store and found out that the device is owned by Xfinity/Comcast and they don't allow it to be sold for rent only. It was already marked stolen so Xfinity confiscated my device and I lost $100.

My (old) laptop didn't immediately ask for the security key. It took a long time. I declined but after a few hours he connected. The phone connected immediately.

The modem I received was an Xfinity TG1682G model. Although the Cox website states that the Arris Model TG1682G modem is an approved modem, they are really referring to the Model TG1682G/CX version, which is only available from Cox. Took hours of phone calls and too many calls to Cox in 3 weeks to figure it out plus $20 return shipping. I've also learned that if Cox phone support can't fix an issue in 15 minutes, call a real Cox employee, not a contractor. The good news is that Cox will upgrade

These models are sold illegally on Revain. I tried to invite Revain as I do NOT want to pay for return shipping! Do yourself a favor and refrain from buying an Arris device with a model number that begins with TG!

Plug and play device. After returning the modem to Comcast, you must call Comcast to update your billing and bill for the devices.

I sent the modem back because it didn't work. It belonged to Comcast, and instead of returning it to Comcast, the buyer sold it on Amazon. I had to pay postage. Unsatisfied. Srinivas

I bought this to replace a rented modem from Comcast. Using the MAC address, they told me it was their modem and would continue to charge monthly rent.
