The blades must be razor sharp.

Bought this tool when it was on sale. I can't use a wet stone to save my life. I saw it in a stupid video on YouTube. Well, after just a few passes of this stone with a sharpener, I was able to shave off the hair on my arm. But be aware that if your blades are really rough. The guide suggests using a grinder first as these stones are best used to stay sharp. I've seen other reviews complaining that the stone didn't cut enough material. Completed the instructions and works as promised.

No leather whetstone X2

When I received my set, I immediately opened it and found the leather tear-off strap was missing. Disappointed that it wasn't included I sent the set back and ordered another, hoping everything would be fine. Upon opening the SECOND box, I discovered that the kit I received had a dent in the bottom of the case. Top quality: whetstones

This review came about three weeks after the purchase. I've used it to sharpen planes, chisels and kitchen knives, about two dozen blades in all, and I'm very happy with this stone. As the product documentation says, no pressure! A constant angle and light strokes are sufficient. The 3x8 size is perfect. It's heavy and will stay in place if you use a non-slip mat.
