Trailer hitch lock

Instructions included, looks good, item as described. Used with no problems, fits tight and does the job so no complaints. The spacer/retaining ring got stuck and slipped out once when removed after use. Used this with a 944 truck extension, worked better than the pin that came with the extension. The lock works perfectly, the key does not get stuck. Very happy with the product and I really love the lock, nothing beats the feeling of extra security :) Due to this locking system it was very…

The conversion

I have a particularly shaky trailer (always on my electric wheelchair car) that needs 2 things. First I had to weld the inner spring to the nut because it broke. It could probably just be glued. Second, I couldn't find a lockwasher that lasted 40+ miles until I found a fantastic but expensive lockwasher from Nord Lock - Carbon STL Zinc FLK CTD Through Hardened Wedgelock Washer M16 (5/8) Large OD 4 bonded pairs/pack, right here on Revein. Raised once every 20,000 km. Place 2 of these on a…

works but wrench doesn't work

I used this hitch to attach a bike rack to my camper van. It was easy to install and I think it's anti-theft. BUT my advice is to ditch the supplied stamped metal "wrench" right away and use a regular handyman/mechanic wrench - I use a ratchet wrench which works great. When I first used the supplied wrench it was so poorly made that the jaws opened when the clutch nut was tightened so it was useless at that point. To make matters worse, the wrench "burred" on the hex nut (which is plated in…

Adds some much-needed stability to the Allen bike rack

Rattle-resistant locking pin that looks good from both the top and bottom, and this pin fits perfectly. The locking mechanism is smooth and durable. I leave the rack on in the elements for a few days and it doesn't stick or act weird. The included wrench leaves a bit to be desired, but you don't have to over-tighten the pin to round the end. To make it work with my Allen bike rack (4 bikes with 2" hitch) I had to drill one side of the pin holes to allow the large threaded portion of the pin to…

Cons

Effective, but not without flaws.

An effective way to eliminate vibration and rattle on a light to medium duty hitch. The hitch bolt is solid and the locking mechanism is a simple two-key cylinder lock with a protective rubber cap. The inner nut is welded to a bracket that fits inside the link (should be hollow, not solid) and held in place by friction between the bracket and the inside of the link. The included 3/4" wrench has a notch to help place the bracket in the drawbar and align the holes. However, some flexing of the…
