Lock It Up!: Clutch Accessory

My husband was looking for two backpacks but after some research they seemed more durable and safer. Unfortunately, this means more keys to track, but it was worth the tradeoff. It can easily lock and unlock the trailer and boat. Our first order had a lock damaged but it was quickly replaced without throwing away a broken one.

Pros
  • Sleek Design
Cons
  • Durable

Good low security lock

I use this to lock my hitch. I like the pipe wrench and the included dust cover. The lock works very smoothly. I don't like when the lock is open it becomes almost flexible. When it's open it looks very loose and cheap. But when closed it seems very solid and strong. I don't think this lock will last more than a few seconds against someone with a good plywood bar.

Pros
  • Best in the niche
Cons
  • Empty

Robust, large selection of keys

I have a brass trailer lock that is unscrewed with a key. I was worried that if I got stuck somehow I might break the key in the lock and what should I do then? I have already broken the keys in the locks that have been confiscated. The round key on this lock seems to be the best solution. The lock itself is thick and well constructed. I just have to take care of my keys (2) and manage them as if something would happen to them, I probably screwed it up due to my own protective nature.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • There are disadvantages

Great design. Mediocre build quality.

I think these might be the best hitch locks in terms of design. I wish they would make them better. Maybe boron. The ones I somehow broke off in the key area, I don't know how, where I couldn't put the key in at all. And it wasn't due to rust or stuck pins. I still liked it so much that I bought 2 more for my other pendants. I will say you need to measure the size you need because it was very tight so it didn't always close unless I was squeezing it. But that's what you want! A thief cannotโ€ฆ

The best of the best tow bar locks.

I had trouble finding the right hitch lock that didn't have the same key for every lock sold by the manufacturer and was effectively tamper proof until I found this one. This one fits great and fits snugly onto the clutch release lever and doesn't use the traditional key and toggle switch which is very easy to pick up. This lock uses a round key that is inserted and pressed, then turned to lock and unlock the mechanism. Of course, no lock is secure, but this one is much harder to pick. Worthโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Dope ๐Ÿ”ฅ
Cons
  • Some flaws

Bad weather protection, difficult to use

I have no idea why the review site asks to rate the cleanliness and thickness of this lock. In any case, it's not very well made and constantly requires the key to be in the lock to close the hitch. Maybe it's a security feature that keeps you from locking the hitch without a key, but it's pretty annoying having to fiddle with the keys every time you touch the lock. The "rubber" gasket that's supposed to cover the lock hole falls off every time you try to pick it. Unless it's lost, I doubt itโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • The list would be long.

That's it, a deterrent!

Bought a few to keep people honest. That's it, a deterrent. I once lost the keys to one of them, took a Dewalt grinder with a cutting disc and was able to cut through it in 2 minutes. Suppose the thief can do this in the middle of the night, but it will make a lot of noise. I think this combined with other deterrents like a ball lock, a heavy duty chain with a lock on the edges on a post in concrete, is the best deterrent for a thief. Combining multiple deterrents would take too much timeโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Not the best

Excellent durable lock

I have had the flat key version of this lock for at least 9 years and it is still in use. I stood on the towbar of an ATV trailer 24/7/365 in all weather (rain, snow, ice, dust, mud) and temperatures from 105 to minus 15 degrees. After a few years, the rubber loop that held the rubber cap closed deteriorated and tore. I used the rubber cap until I lost it. Thanks to the internal plugging of the keyhole, dirt did not get into the lock and it continued to work. The chrome finish is still inโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Functionality

Questionable durability. Attention buyers.

Upon receipt, the locking mechanism was already dirty and barely working. After dousing the keyhole with WD-40 and holding it for half an hour, black debris poured out of the lock. The locking mechanism now works perfectly, BUT. If the lock arrives rusted after being stored in a dry warehouse, how will it perform outdoors for a long time? Although the lock comes with a protective rubber cap, it gets damaged in the sun, falls off and then what? Also this protective cap did not work very well inโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • Communication with seller
