These things are smooth!

These pieces are smooth. I already had one, but we have a house that is over 5,000 square feet and that wasn't enough. I placed the second one on top, entered the controller and there was a new one in pending status. I clicked on it, then selected deployment and it was configured to match my other access point. Now I can walk around the house and automatically connect to the nearest hotspot. I also noticed that my old hotspot and new hotspot had older firmware, just press update on both, after…

Pros
  • New to my collection
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Goodbye headache, hello heaven.

I use them in 6 different bars here in New Orleans. They're as bulletproof as possible. Keep in mind that they aren't as easy to set up as other consumer devices. However, since the Unifi controller makes monitoring easier, it's not a bad solution if you're in charge of keeping the WiFi going for someone who isn't tech savvy (Hey Mama!). Tip: Set up a Unifi controller on a cloud server. (Revain A2) or a cheap VPS (I pay $7/year for a VPS with 1GB RAM). This allows me to run many easy-to-access…

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • No insurance

Outstanding performance

I installed 2 of these on my 3200 square meter app. ft. at home trying to improve WiFi coverage and performance. (I also bought their Cloud Key and Universal Security Gateway.) UAP-AC-PRO works great. At first I just set up one to test its capabilities. This single access point (AP) eclipsed my old router/WLAN combo AP. I have 3-4 times more. Despite this improvement, I needed strong 5GHz coverage, so I ordered a second one. I installed one at each end of the house. With two APs, I get 5 GHz…

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • Updates available

Extremely reliable wireless access point!

I set up this wireless hotspot using a Ubiquiti Unifi cloud dongle (sold separately). This wireless access point is really reliable; Once it's up and running, you'll have a strong and reliable internet signal that just works. It has a 2.4 and 5 GHz radio; I recommend boosting the signal on the 5GHz radio to MAX, otherwise your devices will quickly connect to the slower 2.4GHz signal. I used the Uni Cloud Key (sold separately) to set up the hotspot. I am by no means an information technology or…

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

I used to have 4 Velop knots at home but 3 months ago it started to go haywire and one knot just died. I keep hearing complaints from my boys and BIG BOSS about the internet going down. I actually had 5 hotspots in my house. 2 AC Lites, 2 AC LRs and 1 AC Pro which I placed in the busiest spot in my house - the playroom. Installation is easy. You'll need either a PoE switch or a PoE adapter to power this thing. Plug it in and run the Unifi software downloaded from Ubiquiti and set up a hotspot…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not bad

Excellent entry point for the Unifi system

I have decided to upgrade my home network to the Unifi system and purchase this access point as part of a kit. I also bought a Unifi USG and a Unifi PoE Switch. There are a few important points to note: 1. Although this can work with any network setup, it works best with a full Unifi2 environment. Unifi configuration usually requires the controller to work on your network. This can be a cloudkey that you buy separately, or an application that you run on a physical or virtual machine. It should…

Pros
  • Regular price
Cons
  • Low maintainability

Connects cell phone to mobile devices

I can walk up and down stairs and into every room in the house and even on the front or back porch and my iPad never hiccups, slows down or pauses. It was completely different with the wireless router that I got from my DSL provider. I exercise by walking around the house with an iPad. I'm shooting on the stairs in our old house and other, smaller routers can't keep up like Ubiquiti. I have a usable signal on the front and back porches and almost to the barn. I even have a signal in the…

Pros
  • Expensive but decent
Cons
  • Nothing

The best wifi hotspot you can get for the price Don't buy this for your home unless you're really good at networking and don't know instructions follow, read manuals and don't use google to help you (first time). In addition to this device, you need a POE injector or a POE switch. They sell another model without the E at the end that includes a POE injector. You will also need a Unifi Cloud key or install the software on a computer that preferably works 24/7 to manage the device. Requirements…

Pros
  • Finally bought it
