Wow just amazed by this WAP.

Basically I bought this as a power user and have a 2 story colonial style house and my previous wireless router (Netgear) had trouble reaching all corners of my house due to its design. I bought this WAP on my brother's recommendation, thinking I might need 2 to fully cover my house. In short I need it, I have excellent coverage and speed. My family (users) are happy! The management software is really powerful and a dream for experienced users. A separate system is required for operation. I…

Phenomenal home hotspot

My 1650 sqm. feet home finally has perfect 5G WiFi coverage around every corner. My old ISP modem/wireless router worked fine when I was around. Getting a computer to stream to both my TV and mobile devices has always seemed like a real hassle. When I ran the speed test, my old Wi-Fi was running at full speed 100/100 in the same room as my ISP's modem. In the living room it dropped to 30/30 and in the far corner of the master bedroom it dropped to 5/5 or 10/10 on a good day. Now I have 100/100…

Nice little hotspot in Wireless Hotspots

So I installed this hotspot and have been using it for about 3 weeks. I have a lot of experience with enterprise setups on large setups (100-200 APs). I currently manage two locations, one is all Cisco and the other is Aruba. I'm saying this so you can get an idea of my experience with the wireless network, and you'll know that I'm comparing this access point and what I expect from it. The routers just couldn't keep up, which is what I needed. I currently have 4 AC clients and 2 N clients and…

Incredible range and options

After a year the TP-Link router stopped detecting wired connections and allowing connections via WiFi, I started looking for something better. After reading reviews of Nighthawks and other pointless routers ranging from $3 to $700 (and crashing frequently) for the serious bandwidth budget, I found the Unifi. Now of course there are options you need to tweak to improve this, but I wouldn't rule out that this is for the average home user. What sets this apart from the average plug and play home…

Fantastic Professional Access Point

This is no ordinary home access point; This is how an access point should be! The form factor, features, installation, and Power Over Ethernet support are amazing. I especially like that a "power injector" (like an "AC adapter" with ethernet ports) is included in the box in case you don't have a POE switch. This access point is designed to be flush mounted to a ceiling (or wall) and includes all necessary mounting hardware. You can rotate and remove the access point from the base by inserting a

These are my default hotspots, I wouldn't choose anything else.

Update: almost 2 years later and 20 thanks (thanks by the way). Everything is STILL fixed. Be sure to download the hotspot setup software every blue moon to check for firmware updates for general security. The beauty of this is that you can automatically implement rolling updates to minimize the impact on coverage. I always seem to forget where the heck the wifi settings are. Below left is your answer. I stand by my original review and will most likely never use any other consumer wireless…

For beginners - read if you need help!

We bought these access points to add to our new smart home which came prewired for two people. We've never used hotspots before, so the fact that the product comes with no instructions and says 'go to site' didn't help. We actually returned them and had to buy them back when we realized we wanted a product that didn't require a ceiling outlet. It took us a long time (2 days and we almost had a nervous breakdown) to figure these things out. Here are some tips for those who find themselves in the

Wireless Access Points have made my life easier

I purchased this along with the Ubiquiti Unifi Security Gateway Pro which I received through the Vine program. This was one of my best device purchases in years. I have no idea how it works when it's separate from the security gateway. I know it's awesome with the gateway. If you know about networking, this Unifi device is great for home and small office use. In fact, you can manage your home and office from the same control panel. Yes. To be clear, this is not a consumer device and home…
