Tried this with a VRC and and DVD player, both worked perfectly. Crazy VHS tapes that haven’t been played in decades still work. Nice write to USB functionality, doesn’t get easier than that. Overall very pleased, great product.

Have old VHS tapes around the house? Maybe you transferred them in the past but you need to do it again in better quality or you lost the transfers. The previous version uses a SD Card or a USB drive and captures the ENTIRE file. This version captures files in 2gb segments requiring another software App to merge all files segments into one file, which results in a 5gb file once all files are merged. This output merged file could be larger based upon the number of 2gb file segments. Why can't new and improved be just that?

I had old VHS and hi-8 videos to transfer to a digital file. I hooked my VCR and camcorder to the device and it worked. I was able to transfer all my videos to a digital file. The digital file was universal for all of my video editing software (I toggle between Animoto, MovieMaker, and Adobe Premiere- all software read the digital files). It was easy to use.
