It's good until it works properly

At first this thermometer was fantastic. I've always overcooked meat because I never knew when it was done and it really helped. I've had it for a few months and it switched to Celsius on its own and I CANNOT get it to switch back. The only positive thing is that I'm currently learning how to convert Celsius to Fahrenheit hahaha. Sometimes it doesn't turn off. I have to hold down the button for it to go off.

  • Complete set

I do not know where to start.

Okay first off if that's what you're looking for for making candy, swipe left and keep looking! It says it can be used with candy, which is true as long as you're willing to stand up and hold it at some very odd angles to read it. The numbers seem to be jumbled up as the pace increases. Once it hit the proper 300f for lollipops, it evaporated and the screen went black. Generally this works, but as with an intermittent service, it won't work as well as you want or need it to. As opposed to…

Easy to read, beautiful, simple, works, satisfied

I've been using it for about a year, I like it very much. It's not an instant read, so you'll have to wait a few seconds for it to register the temperature of what you're testing. Depending on which hand you hold it in, it reads correctly in one hand and upside down in the other - no big deal, just a note. If I needed something else, I'd like it a little longer; When measuring in a pot on the stove, the hand is closer to the heat of the pot/what is being cooked and waits a few seconds to…

Ideal for making yoghurt at home

We bought this milk temperature thermometer for making homemade yoghurt at home. It's simple and effective. Can't say much about accuracy because we don't have a point of comparison, but it gets the job done. Most of the other thermometers were expensive due to the CoVid situation. Since we started using this thermometer, yogurt making has become a science, not an art. Boil the whole milk, cool to 115°F, mix with the starter, allow the temperature to drop to 110°F and simply place in an Instant

Not worth it - kitchen and dining room

So I recently bought this for my pasta (I wanted to try the Swiss method instead of the French). If I'm melting the sugar in the egg whites over a double grill, I need the temperature as fast as possible so the egg whites don't boil. I hook up a thermometer and the instructions say you'll get a reading within 5 seconds, but it literally took me over 30 seconds and the time is CRITICAL! It started at 85 degrees and it took me at 118. But the thermometer is rising SO SLOWLY. For example: it goes…

Very very slow and inaccurate

When I first used this meat thermometer the reading seemed to slowly climb to the final temperature reading which was inaccurate (compared to the broken thermometer it replaced). So I ran a simple test to see how slow and inaccurate it really is. I placed the probe for this thermometer, as well as a thin thermocouple for a professional thermometer, in rapidly boiling water. The professional gauge quickly showed an accurate temperature of 212F. This meat thermometer slowly rose, eventually…
