We were doing a bathroom renovation which required new tiles in the shower. The recommended propeller was Durock, but we couldn't find it locally. They were then delivered a day late and we were dying to get to work so we substituted another type. As soon as they arrived we started using them and what the heck is the difference in how they got into the backer and sat flush. I understand why they are recommended for this purpose. I installed a 1/4 inch thick Durock cement board for a bathroom renovation. Have used both "Rock On" screws and these Durock branded screws. I prefer Durock screws.
