I have other very thin tips and this 2mm diameter tip is ideal for general purposes through components as well as drag and drop soldering of SMD chips.

I chose this other tip for my pine64 device that I received. The fit was fine and the tip worked as expected straight away. There would be no problem capturing more of it if needed.

Easy to use and just what I expected. I'm glad I can add functionality to what is essentially a soldering iron. I struggled with my Radio Shack iron for over 20 years until my mind exploded with my ts100.

It's easy to set up and use. Best of all, once plugged in, it's ready to use in less than a minute. It is small and easy to store. It's great for any remote control hobby. I've had mine for a month and use it 10-40 times a day, it works perfectly.

I bought the UY Chan I-Tip through Revain about 1.5 years ago. The total usage time of this handpiece is less than 1.5 hours. The rear silver strip has detached from the insulator through which current is transmitted to the tip. The tip had trouble getting and maintaining temperature. I now know that this is most likely due to a faulty group. Unfortunately, it's not that easy to fix, so it's garbage now. In general, the quality did not convince me.

I got this tip because I needed to solder very small (for me) parts for a project. With no prior experience with SMD soldering, I was able to solder 0603 parts fairly easily that would have been blown off by the tip that came with my TS100 iron. Heats up lightning fast, but doesn't have enough thermal mass to deal with heavy ground aircraft. A cap needed this tip to solder the ungrounded side and another, stronger tip to work with the ground plane on the other side. But most of all I like this…
